Jeff Golick:

I really want that frog to eat those sunglasses. Are they Billy's?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am
Amanda:

@Jeff, no idea what the real rules are for the Deal With It meme but I'd guess that once the glasses are on, they shouldn't be eaten or otherwise tampered with in any way. Just my gut feeling.
Avatar 12:01pm
KP:

Good afternoon, Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:01pm
listener james from westwood:

Afternoon, Amanda and all! Happy to hear a sing-along first up!
Avatar 12:02pm
Roberto:

Oh it's Amanda's golden voice. I was thinking this was some obscure demo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06pm
Amanda:

The obscurest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay, that was the AmNazziest!
  12:13pm
Dean:

This Edmunds/Lynne collaboration reminds me of another, sorely unsung Welsh band, The Neutrons. They have a Man connection. They were really wonderful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Amanda:

Great rec, @Dean!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
doctorjazz:

He all, Love this Foundations track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm
Amanda:

The Foundations are just so solidly wonderful. That is the last track on the album but far from a throwaway, just short and sweet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
listener james from westwood:

Whoa, way too long since I've heard this Lucas track.
Avatar 12:32pm
KP:

Nailed it!
Avatar 12:32pm
ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
  12:34pm
Dean:

Love Van Morrison's and Keith Jarrett Trio's versions of this.
  12:35pm
Eric:

NE Kingdom... Swanton in the house!

sometimes it must be difficult not to feel as if you really are a cliff, when fascists keep trying to push you over it
Avatar 12:36pm
KP:

I like the covers, especially ones I didn't know or forgot he wrote.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Amanda:

There are now more tin cans than there are people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm
Amanda:

@Eric: Swanton represent!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm
listener james from westwood:

Ooh, love these folks!

Good afternoon, Amanda and all. working & listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Amanda:

Hi Mayuko!!!!!!! So glad you're here!
  12:46pm
Dean:

Yeah, but there's still only one Tin Man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Jeff Golick:

I'm back to deal with it.
Avatar 12:47pm
Mayuko:

On Wednesdays I'm usually at public school dealing with crazy people aka 3rd/4th graders, but this week they're on spring break. Nice to be able to tune in real time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
listener james from westwood:

I feel like Aimee Mann could sing the hell out of this Bolger song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
Mike East:

Ah, Dennis Diken produced Chris Bolger, as I learned last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm
doctorjazz:

Ive see that gif somewhere before...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm
Amanda:

@James - That's a good call, I agree!

@Jeff, "Welcome Back"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
doctorjazz:

I'll take Aimee Mann singing the alphabet song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Amanda:

I have a feeling that 3rd/4th graders might like this radio show, though there's sometimes profanity in it so I do not recommend it to them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
Jeff Golick:

Pitch a Tent Records - were CVB on that label?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57pm
listener james from westwood:

If they're gonna learn those words anywhere, here's a good place. That oughta hold the little SOBs.
  1:01pm
Listener Robert:

When you said there was a problem with cold medicine, at 1st I thought the remedy would be to heat it up.

Man, the balls on Jan and Dean here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm
Mike East:

oh, this is brightening my day. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Joe D.:

this is insane. ALL they did was change to the first person plural. This is a self referential joke song about a self referential joke song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Amanda:

@bpd You just know it was all Jan...

@Mike East Thanks!
Avatar 1:05pm
bpd:

"You fuckers know what else? I'll stop the rain, *and* I'll save your soul, so choke on that shit."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm
Amanda:

@Joe D. - Indeed! I also like how it's not a guy talking to himself, as Barry Mann/Gerry Goffin originally wrote it-- it's now two guys confrontationally talking to, like, an acquaintance? About how they're responsible for him getting laid?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Jeff Golick:

Anyone heard the Feelies RSD release? Four covers, I think.
  1:15pm
P-90:

Hi Amanda and AmNazzafarians!

can't stop doing... the monkey
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
listener james from westwood:

Yes! There's at least one character who's rendered the same way as, say, Akira.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
Mike East:

that'll show him to bust my tomater...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
listener james from westwood:

It is a very good episode. It has a LOT of competition in this season for BEST episode, either of the season or the series, but that shouldn't detract.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
Mike East:

I remember kinda liking Herman's Head
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
listener james from westwood:

I was aware of it but never actually sampled it, for some reason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
Mike East:

didn't that movie Inside Out rip off the idea a bit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm
Listener Scott:

I never thought the Herman's Head joke on that ep was a dig at Herman's Head, more of just a shoutout for Yeardley Smith.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
listener james from westwood:

Kinda the same personified executive functions/emotions idea there, yeah.
  1:32pm
Hackensack Slim:

Was that the same AA meeting that Flanders attended, for having that one shot of Schnapps?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I like the dialog from Simpsons House of Horror XIX:
John Wayne: (to Prince) Little Sister, is that mustache coming or going?
Prince: Well your wife likes it.
John Wayne: (chuckles) You're okay, goofy grape.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
listener james from westwood:

I did know the song before seeing the show, which made it triply funny.
Avatar 1:40pm
steve:

i definitely didn't know It Was a Very Good Year at the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm
Amanda:

@Hackensack Slim--totally, it was! Ann Landers is a boring old biddy.
Avatar 1:42pm
steve:

check out these Simpsons poster i just got, can't wait to hang them up - palmtreat.design...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
Dominick:

peculiar mix of "Raindrops"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Amanda:

@Dominick It is the same recording that was on Butch Cassidy, or so says the internet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Amanda:

@steve, those are far-out!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm
Dominick:

Same recording but really opened up panning of stereo, and some phase based effect on the center panned tracks.
Avatar 1:55pm
ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
Jeff Golick:

What time is it?? Ugh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
Jeff Golick:

Thanks, AN!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm
listener james from westwood:

Always a joy, Amanda! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm

It's 2:00. **DEAL WITH IT**
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
Amanda:

Thank you all for listening today. I will talk to you next week! xo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Going to the record fair, Amanda? Not able to listen today, so sorry if you mentioned it on a mic break.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm
Amanda:

I will be there on Sunday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm
Amanda:

I screwed up again, Duffless was in the middle of the season. Had a feeling that was incorrect and I just checked it... Actual season 4 finale was Krusty Gets Kancelled, a big production to be sure but IMO a much weaker episode. OK, carry on everyone
  12:22pm
for pete's sake:

The new " " "Monkees" " "' single's out.
Hmm . . . not awful as expected . . . not "amazing" . . . not bad . . . not big hit . . . playing it again . . .
