yes,Cliff. i ate "soy chorizo". it's only good with salsa or chutney or ?
a little disappointing, considering that i hooked it up with sauteed onion, turmeric, ginger, parsley, cilantro & garlic. the same preparation would've been great with chick peas.
oh well, now i'm eating dark chocolate and drinking red wine, which is all delicious!

What happens if I hold up a touch-tone phone receiver while this is playing?
  10:17pm
Cliff:

(Does anyone still have one of those?!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:18pm
coelacanth:

"i'm obviously not answering my phone so you can leave a message so i know who called, or you can go fuck yourself."

...this was what i put on my answering machine once when i was pissed at the world. unfortunately my mother, who i only spoke with about 3X/year at the time, called the next day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:22pm
melinda:

I have 2 touch-tone phones. As well as a vintage Swedish 1-piece rotary phone that doesn't work too well but looks cool.

...Krell Labs by definition of course always a bit unpredictable - but I have to admit I'm enjoying it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
coelacanth:

those old phones were made well. most of the really old ones made of bake-a-lite would work fine still if people hadn't discarded them for the cheap crap that took over in the 70s, when the monopoly was abolished. they also sounded beautiful.
that's a rare case of a monopoly i'd get behind. it sucked when that happened. quality of equipment and service plummeted and prices skyrocketed.
  10:34pm
Cliff:

And now we're into the structural demolition part of the show

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm
Marcel M:

I tried to reference what a band sounded like by mentioning Black Sabbath earlier tonight. To a kid who was probably around 13. He had no idea what I was talking about. I guess that makes sense but I was taken aback.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:47pm
coelacanth:

there's an exceptional wind chime on the property that i'm on right now. it wasn't until i started to record it one night, a few years ago -with the crickets and owls in the background, the ubiquity of air plane sound.
  10:48pm
Cliff:

Well I horribly embarrassed my parents when I was 12 and we were visiting my aunt in North Carolina and she was wearing a tie-dye Dead shirt, and I was like, "The GRATEFUL DEAD? Whozzat?!" I couldn't even comprehend that a band would want to be publicly known with a moniker like that.
  10:50pm
Cliff:

The phone AGAIN?! Jeeeez, can't somebody pick up
Avatar 🌫 Swag For Life Member 10:51pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Just realized today would've been the 84th birthday of Johnny Cash. He's trying to call us!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm
Marcel M:

@Cliff: Its funny you put it that way. Because, "Black Sabbath," simply makes me think of the band without thinking of the actual phrase because I'm so used to associating it that way. And when I said the name to the kid he gave me this look like, "what the fuck? What is a black sabbath, you weirdo?" Which makes sense for a kid who has never heard the name. Funny.
  10:52pm
Cliff:

Spooky!
  10:53pm
Cliff:

Exactly what my 12-year-old brain was trying to process. Who on earth would be grateful to be dead, and why would they brag about it?!
