I met Lemmy and the band backstage at a Biker Rally in Cherokee, North Carolina in 2009. It was the absolute best environment to see Motorhead. Before they went on, all the Iron Horses cranked up. Anyway, me and a few of my buddies watched the show from backstage. I wore my Little Richard shirt, because I knew Lemmy loves Little Richard. I had no intention of talking to Lemmy, I mean what are you gonna say to the guy, but after the show I got my pic taken with him and offered him a "pull" off my jar of moonshine. He leaned in and said "huh". I go "would you like some moonshine?" He said "Oh no", I then said "Well happy trails". He paused, kinda looked away, looked back as he was getting into his bus, nodded his head and kinda laughed and said "Yeah". It was a moment. Oh and I also got to take many huffs off of his oxvgen tank that was set up backstage.

saw Motorhead opening for WASP in Memphis 1997. Impotent Sea Snakes played too. Next time saw them around Halloween 1999. They played in the woods at a water park in Nashville. I was literally watching the show with a tree behind me. Nashville Pussy were to play but they got kicked off the bill for not being "family friendly". Lemmy made a point to say Nashville Pussy as much as possible in between songs. Saw them on the opening night of European tour in Dublin, which was Halloween around 2009. Danko Jones opened.

The one I have is when Motorhead played NYC the first time at Irving Plaza summer of 81. I took the G to the L and got off at Union Sq. As I was walking towards Irving Place I see Lemmy and Phil coming up out of the IRT stairs, Lemmy has his bass. Oh cool they took the subway. I get to Irving Plaza, and there's a small group out front. There's a yellow Checker cab with the door open and the cabbie is yelling at the guy who's trying to get out. "PAY YER FARE!!" snarls the cabby. "But But I don't have any Yank dollars!" sez the long haired skinny guy in the back. Lemmy and Phil arrive out front and start laughing at the scene. The guy in the back of the cab is Fast Eddie, who apparently would not brave the NYC subway. "YOUSE AINT LEAVIN' UNTIL YOU OR ONE O YER FREAK FRIENDS PAYS THREE DOLLARS!!!" Eddie begs Lemmy, begging anybody to pay the three dollar fare, he looks worried and concerned. Lemmy and some of the crew are still pointing and laughing at the predicament. We laugh too, but a little uncomfortably because the cabby is really getting irate, it was wild west city NY and we saw Taxi Driver which was filmed literally just a few blocks away. Who knows this cabby could be packing iron and lose his shit over three bucks. This goes on for anoither ten minutes until the manager comes out and pays the cabby his three dollars. Later that night after the show (there was like maybe 75 people there, Ace of Spades was still very new) I got to hang with Lemmy at the back bar after the show (Phil collapsed and went to hospital), I got him to autograph a movie section form the Daily News, Lemmy picked out the Escape From New York movie ad, "Oi, that'sf wot were doin' next, yeah?" Thank you Lemmy for the many eardrum blowing shows and rocknroll that means a lot to us.

Not sure when I first heard Motorhead, but I remember hardcore fanzines writing up Ace of Spades, along the lines of 'these guys are nothing like us, not political, not socially aware, but they rock.'.
