Evening, Kim and all! We just had some occasional hail here! Our first real winter weather up in northeastern NJ.
  7:06pm
David:

Cold and raining in Cleveland.
First time listener. ^ - ^

KimSorise:

Welcome listeners new and seasoned! Songs for the Sun this evening. Enjoy and stay warm and dry!

listener james from westwood:

I read Britain got some hideous flooding in, what, Leeds and other localities. Cars and road signs going under. Hoping it's nowhere near as bad by you or anyone else!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm
KimSorise:

No. We've had some flash flood & tornado warnings, two solid thunder storms and just a solid amount of continuous rain. Spring weather
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm
listener james from westwood:

Freaky stuff. Happy the warnings have stayed so. Happy also to finally put a title (and a star) to this killer track!

northguineahills:

Holy crap, it's sleeting like crazy here, although it's still 40F/4C, it's somewhat wintry weather here in Brooklyn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm
listener james from westwood:

Quite a contrast to the 70-degree weather around Christmas! Much more normal, if nothing else.
Avatar 7:27pm
northguineahills:

I had to bring the plants inside so they wouldn't get pummeled from the ice. My jalapenos are still flowering and fruiting, usually they stop before Thanksgiving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm
melinda:

Good evening folks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm
KimSorise:

Welcome Melinda! Care to commiserate on the weather?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm
listener james from westwood:

Howdy, melinda!
@ngh, I wish I had a garden plot or at least a fire escape to grow veggies on. All I have is weak eastern sun and a fluorescent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Sam Segal:

Evening, Kim and all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm
KimSorise:

Evening Sam!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm
melinda:

hi Kim and listener james! Cold and sunny today, 3-5" ice pellets expected tomorrow here in Maine. I think that's the Weather Underground term for sleet.
Avatar 7:44pm
northguineahills:

I just have a fire escape micro-garden.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
listener james from westwood:

Hey, Sam!
melinda, that sounds frightful, whatever name WU puts to it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm
Uncle Michael:

I like this.
Avatar 7:58pm
northguineahills:

Yikes, I've only seen maybe 2"s of sleet, usually, it's just enough to cover the ground.
Avatar 8:02pm
glenn:

apparently lemmy has died.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm
melinda:

Yeah, it could suck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm
KimSorise:

Oh shit... Really.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm
melinda:

Aww, damn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm

consequenceofsound.net...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm

Was waiting for confirmation on that ... shit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm
Uncle Michael:

Apparently he learned of his diagnosis two days ago. Bigger than life...but no one's bigger than death. Fuck cancer.
  8:13pm
David:

Motörhead was extremely innovative.. nobody sounded like that guy at one time.. maybe the lead singer of Death preceded him
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm
listener james from westwood:

Was introduced to Motörhead, and "Ace of Spades," when I saw their performance of that cut on "The Young Ones." I'd heard nothing like it before.
Avatar 8:23pm
glenn:

they were awesome.
  8:24pm
David:

Incidentally a very good Middle Eastern/South Asian program on KZSC Santa Cruz in this exact same time slot. "Unfiltered Camels" 7-9pm EST Mondays
Avatar 8:26pm
glenn:

i thought they should have cast lemmy as captain jack sparrow's dad instead of keef, but alas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
melinda:

What a great name for a Middle Eastern music show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm
Uncle Michael:

How different this is from your average Rolf Harris track ha always delighted me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
melinda:

I'm just now catching on to the solar theme here.
  8:35pm
David:

The host of "Unfiltered Camels" was just a listener to the station. He only joined the station to keep the longtime show from dying out. Now I will have to listen to this show and that :)
  8:37pm
David:

Ken Boothe.. smoothe voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
KimSorise:

Not so much a theme as a mood of staying warm & dry - and yes, Unfiltered Camels is pretty great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm
melinda:

Nina! I like this version, haven not heard it before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm
melinda:

have, not haven. geez.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the music Kim.
  8:58pm
listener james from westwood:

Good call on the closer. Fun show and looking forward to a global and greasy 2016!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm
KimSorise:

Took a minute but I got it in! Take care until next week!
