Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Avatar 🦇 6:05am

But can you listen to web radio in the car? I never can get it to stream on my phone
Avatar 6:07am
C.S.:

It's so dark and foggy on the east coast. Great for tuning in because I still can convince myself it's really late instead of early morning. Hi everyone.
Avatar 6:20am

Ah. Nouvelle Vague doing what they do best.
Avatar 🦇 6:22am
Julie:

I always think of them as a hip but chill french cafe band
Avatar 6:23am
C.S.:

Do they only do covers?
Avatar 🦇 6:24am
Julie:

yeah I think so. I only have that one album.

Good morning, Julie and soul brothers / sisters. To listen to the stream while driving, I turn off wifi and get the signal from the cell phone data plan.
Avatar 🦇 6:37am

yeah my data just isn't consistent enough, it's frustrating

I finished the archive for Tuesday's fil-in. Such a great calm mood that was created. Great to hear so much music that I just wasn't too familiar with.

@Julie Dumb question. Why are some shows internet only? Is it to make room for more DJs?
Avatar 🦇 7:16am
Julie:

pretty much. We have a show that's on FM from 6-9 mon-fri, and I guess Ken wanted to squeeze some free form in. Then..came other streams.
Avatar 🦇 7:22am
Julie:

get ready for a show tune
  7:24am
Ike:

Historical accident of sorts. Nobody in 1980 at Upsala College wanted to do 6-9 and prob. couldn't imagine any freeform DJ ever would. And there was little or no Jewish music on the radio. A strange radio marriage occurred. It doesn't flow too well w/freeform though, so they have their own stream now.

the Rhomb are back, actually Chris, and playing the great old beer halls... www.bandsintown.com... and though the US Shameless is not bad, you certainly can't beat the Paul Abbott Manchester original, going places US TV just can't go...
