Did I dream that last track?

@ Greg - classic! I chatted w/him briefy after the show - told him that I was at an old Ubu gig on LI, December of '81 or '82....Malibu Nite Club...deemed by him as the worst gig in Ubu history, because the club pulled the plug on their brilliant set after about a half hour.....on the way home, driving my sister's old Mercury Meteor (!), the engine seized, leaving us cold and stranded on the Meadowbrook Parkway in the middle of the night...he laughed and said 'So the night was a complete success all around then!" Haha!

Luke Burbank (host of Live Wire on NPR) called FB "the suburbs of the internet". I love that. I'm not sure if he came up with that or not. It is programmed to tap into our desire for social approval. Ick.

X. Ray Burns mentioned once that they fussed at him about his alias. I forget the outcome. He might be on it with his given name.

I use Facebook as an exercise in NOT communicating my real political views in order to remain more neutral. So far, my experiement is succeeding. I basically "like" Star Trek stuff and cool animal videos...

Shortwave! How cool is that?
  4:13pm
Listener Robert:

Well, that dates this recording to at least about 45 yrs. ago, when WWV anmts switched from GMT to CUT (Z).
  4:14pm
Clay:

Facebook? Yes, I use it to max-marketize/monitize the dusty experience. Twitter, Pinterest, Myspace, Soundcloud, smoke signals, flyers, street teams, yes. Fully engaged. I rarely post on the accu-playlist however as I need to retain street cred.

What counts as an alias on FB? I was put in charge of the Balder Rising FB acc't after Robert Blumetti got tired of operating it. Balder Rising's the name of a pagan church. Then I also my own under my own name because "everybody's got to be on" FB.
  4:20pm

Anybody's code here fast enough to read that?

RTD: Miss you on faceborg. You should register as a Biz w/ the Biz name. That was one thing I liked about MySpace - is it was full of fictional profiles...Understand Zuckerbird doesn't want dead profiles but an actual social network - but some middle ground shouldn't be that hard w/ all those billions he has...ah well...

Good call, Fabio. Although there is some speculation that Gutenberg might not have been the true inventor. For a fascinating related story, see Alan Stevenson's "Problem of the Missale Speciale," a page-turner (heh heh) of bibliographic history.
