Damn it I leave for 5 minutes and miss Jethro Tull! At least I get to hear Yo La Tengo now. They were great when they played here in Ithaca a couple years back.

IT'S TIME - for Alvin Dahn.
  4:57pm
Laura L:

Was just singing this Alvin Dahn over Thanksgiving, because family can do this to you, even when you like them!
  4:58pm
Dean:

I had a hard time getting past Jethro, I mean, Ian Anderson. The friggin' flute, the posturing, the voice made for pantomime. But then I heard an interview with him from recent years (with Rick Wakeman, I believe), and he pretty much sympathized with an opinion like mine. So, I suppose I'm a delayed adopter, but in most every other life circumstance I'm a late bloomer, so that, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm

Possibly Erroneous Trivia: Keith J. may have grown up partly in the same rinky-dink small city as actors Linda Hamilton and John Glover, as well as Frank Purdue, plus yr humble commenter. Or so local lore would have one believe.

Dean:

Had a meeting, sorry. Damn, missed that Jarrett Trio which, fortunately, I have at home, anyway. It's a gem, as are most of the trio recordings. For a stretch there I was playing them nightly.

Here's the Ian Anderson interview by Wakeman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KACYuLGK1S0 Yes, @jan, Tull were at their most influential, I guess, while I was in junior high and high school. I was hoping to find a box set reissue of the first few albums (through, say, A Passion Play), but I don't think there is one.
