one person's memory of a night. for what that's worth. nicely written, for sure. & of course Binky sees Punk as a british phenomenon. i won't contest that. the SEX shop was in London after all .. 'punk' , though .. well, that's different. i don't believe it was actually born anywhere in particular. .. i actually do remember hearing about the pies.

I call bollocks to that story about the arrival of punk. I distinctly recall hearing about the Pistols in '76, and when in winter of that year I visited London from California I bought the Anarchy single. It was a huge phenomenon before any of the British bands actually played in North America.
