Live performance by Goddess |
||||||||||
Experimental folk ensemble Goddess writes, as they describe it, "...songs about the dark places in our heads and pasts, influenced by madrigals, Bartok, nursery rhymes, Amish culture, Sandy Denny, the Polanski movie Fearless Vampire Killers, shamanic trance music, a deer organ we found in the woods, church hymns, showtunes and Krautrock." On their latest album, "Paradise," founders Andy, Tamalyn and Fran perform on their usual blend of unconventional instruments, which include a homemade horsehair fiddle, toystore guitar and keyboard, dulcimer and tree branch. Goddess brought their darkly beautiful music to the WFMU studios. |

KATE BUSH! (and Peter the Angel Gabriel)

1. There is also an amazingly beautiful & haunting version of "Another Day" out there that was done by This Mortal Coil, featuring the incredible Liz Fraser of Cocteau Twins fame, on their outstanding 1984 LP "It'll End In Tears".
2. Roy Harper not only first wrote & did "Another Day" in which we heard the KaTe & Peter cover here on this show from KaTe's incredible BBC live Christmas show, but KaTe & Roy Harper have a wonderful little duet of their OWN out there called, simply, "You".
Awesomeness all around, and well done Sean & Irene!
