	7:31pm listener james from westwood: It was on FMU, years ago, when I first heard the rough cuts and takes and instrumental bits that made up some of the Beach Boys' later songs. It's not that I didn't know how much layering and how many takes went into producing their music, but I'd never heard the process in such detail. Amazing and exacting craft.

	7:34pm Flash Strap: One of the best things is hearing how brilliant and not crazy Brian sounds. There's also just so many ideas going on, it's almost unbearable. It's a universe splitting in half for an overabundance of life

	9:07pm Uncle Michael: I would be sad if I ever grew weary of Harry.
	9:08pm Flash Strap: It was more that I wanted to make sure I never would. It was 24/7 for a while. Of course, now I have that problem with the Boys, more often than not
	9:09pm Uncle Michael: I had to back off of Scott Walker for that reason.
	9:09pm Flash Strap: thios one was cowritten with Darryl Dragon
	9:09pm coelacanth: (i {particularly} liked that vocal on "loop de loop") ...i always can enjoy Harry; but then i think i know less than 1/2 his output.
	9:09pm melinda: That would be sad thing, UM. I've stopped listening to some music for quite a long time to avoid that happening, but then having to stop is sad in itself.

	9:13pm Uncle Michael: Melinda, I reached that common Beatles saturation point that so many of us do. It;s kind of nice to now be back to being able to hear how certain of their stuff is so good that it truly transcends that familiarity. It's almost like new music again in those moments.

	9:17pm melinda: UM that's great that you can hear the Beatles in fresh way once again, even if it's just some moments. I tend to rotate my favorite music on a seasonal basis over the last several years to avoid burnout.

	9:21pm coelacanth: UM, i completely relate to that about the beatles....i can even enjoy "hey jude" once-in-a-while again! (though i'd rather hear Wilson Pickett's version) ...AT LEAST once/year now i have an all-beatles-partial-day; usually between 3 & 6 hours of beatles. but i didn't listen to them for many years.

	9:56pm Flash Strap: Once again, this version is so interestingly different from the Smiley version. More bounce! The Elements Suite, such as it is, is Vega-tables (earth), Wind Chimes (air), Fire (Mrs. O'Leary's Cow) (fire of course), and Love to Say Dada (water)
	9:57pm hyde: yeah, these are a lot cooler
	9:58pm Flash Strap: Fire (Mrs. O'Leary's Cow) is of course the track where Brian had a fire going in the studio, had everyone wearing firemen's helmets, etc. and eventually came to feel it had psychokinetic properties when a nearby fire broke out. he may or may not have tried to destroy the tapes in fear
	9:59pm Flash Strap: "Yeah, I’m going to call this 'Mrs. O’Leary’s Fire' and I think it might just scare a whole lot of people."
	10:00pm Flash Strap: hahaha so many repeating motifs! it really is a kooky symphony

	7:31pm listener james from westwood: It was on FMU, years ago, when I first heard the rough cuts and takes and instrumental bits that made up some of the Beach Boys' later songs. It's not that I didn't know how much layering and how many takes went into producing their music, but I'd never heard the process in such detail. Amazing and exacting craft.
