I had not enough patience to create a GIF myself.
My avatar was one of the few i found and imediately liked.
Some online collection, but forgot where.

Why, because cassettes have their own particular grungy analog "charm", of course! Or...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
Guido from Cologne:

.... and i still had a lot of cover prints from my 1980ies Cassette releases and threw them away a couple of years ago. I maybe missed a big busines sof selling 80ies "originals".

Polyus:

I have heard some young scene-folk claim that cassettes sound superior to other formats. Their bands usually sound bad to begin with, though.
Avatar 3:48pm
Fabio:

One thing is for sure: they DO sound better than MP3s.
Avatar 3:51pm
Ryab:

I think Dave was talking about quality the other day, and in my opinion I prefer uncompressed because silences are actually silent, all the intruments are more clear, and it doesn't need to be turned up to hear them all.
  3:51pm
P-90:

Agreed. Or most MP3s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm
Guido from Cologne:

I claim that the old fashioned standard dial telephone sounds way better than any high end hifi unit.

a band i have worked with wanted me to put out their music on cassette and i just laughed. AT least an mp'3 won't break or unspool.

Until recently I had a car w/cassette deck (I almost typed "cat w/cassette deck" -- that would be cool too), so I still used them, but not much now. That said, I almost NEVER had a cassette break or unspool on me. Very unusual. I took good care of them and NEVER bought crappy off-brand blanks.

they hold up far better than cds (especially tdk sa & tdk d).

unfortunately i used dolby a lot,so now they need some eq.
