You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

Hello. I hear tell a snowstorm is on the way.

Got to see Patch instruments twice. Great experience.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm
Ike:

I'm amazed to think that we might get an actual snow-pocalypse this time, and not just a hype-pocalypse.
  Swag For Life Member 9:18pm
12539:

It's been too long since I've seen a blanket on the ground.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm
coelacanth:

hello Dan Bodah; Airborne.

...i thought for a second this would be a good version of "the lonely sea".
  9:22pm
Carmichael:

Good evening Dan and each and every listener. Just came off an extended listen to the Bee Gees' Odessa. Feeling spacey ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm
BDR:

So is *The True Wheel* opener only when on regular schedule? I worry these kind of rules too. Glad you're here.
  9:30pm
Carmichael:

Toshi is amazing. Never heard of him until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
coelacanth:

this is "the outa-whack wheel".

Dan from Toronto:

Tuning in from sunny Toronto. Well, it's nighttime now, but it was sunny earlier. Anyway, sounds delightful, Mr. Bodah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm
Dan Bodah:

Hi all - nice to have you along. I guess I'm thinking of leaving that Eno intro in the past and moving on -- still imagining what the show might become when it comes back on the schedule.
  9:49pm
Carmichael:

Now I'm even spacier ....

Uncle Michael:

I'm sorry I'm late, especially having missed the Harry Partch.
Avatar 9:52pm
northguineahills:

you should be UM, that Partch piece was a burner (one of my faves).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm
Uncle Michael:

Did you know Harry and the cartoonist Virgil Partch (ViP) were cousins?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm
Ike:

Very nice! But has the sound cut out momentarily a few times for anyone else? I'm listening on FM.
Avatar 9:54pm
northguineahills:

Never made the connection, hmmm.... (already in a wiki black hole right now, time for another).
Avatar 9:54pm

It's cut out for me as well a few times, and I'm listening to the stream via iTunes.

On my iPhone, and yes the occasional dropout. Could be a hydrogen storm on Venus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Dan Bodah:

Yes, some technical glitches here unfortunately. Winamp was freezing when the computer wanted to go to screensaver mode - gah. oh and then I played Bob Bannister talking for a sec when I was trying to fix it. Sorry - It should be fixed now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm
Ike:

Actually that's a relief. I was worried it was the transmitter again. What a performance!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- *great* to hear AE again ! ; last fill-in was too late for me, & I shall soon be horizontal in the dark for this as well - but staying tuned gawshdarnit...

Thanks for reminding me about William Basinski (I know that was a while ago now)! I'd meant to check him out forever! Will now do so ardently!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
Dan Bodah:

Some of the video from this set is up on YouTube -- go to www.youtube.com... for Bob's channel. Hallock Hill also posted the video of his set: youtu.be... All the video was shot by WFMU volunteer Ruth Hayduk, many thanks to her.

Dan Bodah:

Ah, thanks Ike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34pm

De nada. You only played an excerpt from this, right? The beginning of the video is really quiet (assuming it's not my equipment).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:38pm
Dan Bodah:

Actually, I played the entire Hallock Hill set I believe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm

Stuart Rose:

this is actually the first time I've listened to your show- though I heard of it a few times in the past.
a great flowing, diverse but coherent set of music. Starting off with weird ole' Harry sets the bar very high, but it's been one inspired noise-maker after another.

@Stuart, thx

I'm praying for the artisanal mayonnaise vendors every day already Jake, they are never far from my nightly devotions
