Happy Paradise, fellow Fools!

In the Summer of 1963, Hans Conried was the host of Fractured Flickers, a TV show like no other !
Avatar 1:09pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Flipping channels last night I caught the great Hans Conried in a few minutes of 'Summer Stock'. Awful '50s musical, and they dubbed Hans' singing voice, so not recommended. Still, good to see the master at work for a few scenes.

Uncle Tonoose! I loved Fractured Flickers.

Hans Conried has just smelled something unpleasant
Avatar 1:09pm purpleknif:

Hans did have a great cartoon voice.
Avatar 1:10pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Default Conried expression: resting who farted face.

Good afternoon Rex and fellow fools
  1:12pm Shawn Garrett:

Hans Conried was a lot of fun in BLONDIE'S BLESSED EVENT (1942). I loved the Blondie series when I was a kid, almost as much as THE BOWERY BOYS. I always thought Conried and Edward Everett Horton had similar voices...
  1:13pm Shawn Garrett:

Also, I love him in the KOLCHAK episode "The Knightly Murders" as the fussy curator Mendelbaum whose museum is being turned into a disco. "Not if you let a pack of rats run through m,y clothes *willy-nilly*!"
Avatar 1:19pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Yeah, Rex, we could make it sound like Johnny and Jack, that'd be great.
Avatar 1:20pm Juke Joint Jonny:

No, no no, I meant Benny Cliff!
Avatar 1:21pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Is the control room located inside the bass?
  1:33pm C#:

The lyrics and comedic timing of "Big Machine" really remind me of "One Piece at a Time". Does anyone know if they're penned by the same hand?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Gaylord Fields:

@Juke Joint Jonny: Hans most certainly did his own singing on "Do-Me-Do Duds" — perhaps one of the top ten songs about cross-dressing to be found in a children's movie.
  1:45pm Mark Dillman:

Hans Conried was a frequent panelist on Ernie Kovacs' game show "Take a Good Look" which was on Friday nights on ABC for two years in the late 1950s. Many of these programs can be seen on the Ernie Kovacs DVD sets that came out in the last few years, including the limited edition bonus discs that were available exclusively from Shout Factory.
  1:47pm Mark Dillman:

I absolutely loved "Fractured Flickers". I was ten years old in 1963 and already an avid fan of everything put out by Jay Ward.
  1:50pm Mark Dillman:

Snydley Whiplash on Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties, Uncle Waldo P. Wigglesworth on Hoppity Hooper. Check out the DVD set of "George of the Jungle." There you can hear Hans was the off-screen narrator on the pilot episode and he was great! Paul Frees got the job instead. Too bad.

C# as in the note or the programming language?

Gimme a C, a bouncy C

Mark, I was the same age in 1963. In one episode of Fractured Flickers, Hans Conried interviewed Bullwinkle Moose, live in the studio. In another episode, Hans interviewed Barbara Eden!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Gaylord Fields:

Here's an item from the 37-Year-Old Angela Lansbury Playing a Grandmother Desk: As Uncle Tonoose, Hans Conried was five years younger than his "nephew," Danny Thomas!

Did someone say "food"?!
Avatar 2:03pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Chicken Backs and Beans… turning into a Fool's Paradise picnic! Premium preview maybe?
  2:26pm Mark Dillman:

Rod Serling was the interview guest on Fractured Flickers, too. Some big names were on that show. Legend has it that the NBC brass told Bill Scott to quit the Bullwinkle moose puppet bit. Seems the moose was instructing the toddlers to do some sorta naughty things, like pulling the channel knob off the TV and then gluing it back on.
