You see a blanket on the ground. It's your favorite color, smooth and soft. You can sit on it, or lie on it. It's a flying blanket, and you are the pilot. You are in control. You can fly anywhere you wish, just by thinking about it. You are the pilot.

The Church of Scientology isn't a real religion. It isn't. LRH said it isn't. What it is is a criminal organization that got religious status by constantly litigating the IRS -- constant litigation tech -- until they got religious status so they wouldn't have to pay taxes.

unlike how Scientologists who are at the Gold Base aka Int Base are fed only a starvation diet of rike & beans
Not rice & beans as part of a nice diet or anything
Only rike & beans, with all the actual real suffering that comes with it. It's not something a person generally wants to be locked inside & guarded to be. That's why people have jumped the fence or run through a door as soon as it was open & wrestled guards & founght a "soft recovery," handlers sent everywhere who have found you to talk you into going back to the org or whatever, & is that doesn't work, a "hard recovery" which is physically kidnapping & locking in the back of the OSA van & put back on post

...so i'm curious how lrh got into the comments & now want to correct something.(no offense to whomever said it) Yams are white inside & probably dont contain much carotene.Sweet potatoes (some types usually, and incorrectly, referred to as "yams" -such as "garnet yams")have lots.(they are not related to yams or potatoes)...and chlorophyll is what makes kale green, though it does have carotenoids too.
[for me,this is important. I'm sorry if i sound like a "know-it-all"]

re authenticity in "ethnic" music, I was inspired by reading this article today: artery.wbur.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm
Dan Bodah:

Key excerpt: "More than that of her Boston-area gamelan colleagues, Diamond’s work deals directly with the legacy of colonialism and imperialism in gamelan’s spread across the globe. In a 1990 essay published in Musicworks, she identifies the way in which ethnomusicological practices have perpetuated power imbalances between researcher and ostensible “subject,” writing, “World music is a dangerous idea. If ‘world music’ means all music except Western music, it perpetuates a hierarchy of knowledge. It separates Western Culture, ‘reality’, from Other Culture, ‘an exotic variation to be observed’. ‘We’ know who ‘they’ are but they don’t know who we are. We understand the entire world but they only understand part of it. We decide what is good for our world and for theirs. We can participate in their world but should not have too much influence. We study ‘them’ and don’t share the results; they don’t need information.”

Diamond believes that by fostering more equitable relationships—economically, academically, and personally—between researchers and those who would have once been referred to as “informants,” a truly equal cultural exchange can be realized.

The upshot is a kind of post-modern, postcolonial musical philosophy in which no one, either local or foreign, is arbiter or keeper of any tradition. Diamond is not concerned with “preserving” gamelan music so much as interacting with it. Her compositions include mash-ups of American standards like “Wayfaring Stranger” with tunes written in a Javanese gamelan idiom."

  11:53pm

Even bringing up the subject plays into the dilemma.

The issue of cultural imperialism is just troubling and the best you can do is be aware of it. But otherwise. what can you do when you discover something & adapt it which is what cultural transference of art is anyway? Or some nonsense.
