Great Warren Zevon song.

Hearing Alvin say "reach for the sky you sidewinders" in that voice is the highlight of my day so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm
Lizardner Dave:

Jean Shepherd used to sing "Ragtime Cowboy Joe" on WOR back in the mid-20th century. (I'm not THAT old, I just have listened to just about every mp3 of Shep that I could find over the last 10 years or so).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm

How do, Amanda and all! Listened from the shower for the first few cuts, now back to work with me all clean and stuff. My editing will never smell nicer.

Those doggies look cute now, but I bet when the lights go out they bare their enormous, flesh-ripping fangs...

Listening at work (as usual) and feeling highly sympathetic with Dolly's sentiments.

Someone pledge that 27 bucks already (the final 6%) and banish the anxious tension! Bring on the celebration!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
listener james from westwood:

Halloween as a holiday is something I'm happy to leave to younger folk at this point (or to make more fun for said younger folks), but I do like cramming my October with horror movies and novels. That said, my avatar depicts my 2008 Halloween costume, from the last great H'ween party a pair of friends threw, to which I went as Hunter Thompson. End of an era.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm
Amanda:

Horror movies, I can take or leave too. Unless they are being riffed upon MST3K style!
Avatar 12:39pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I did this @ my thriftstore job - every single day of October - for three years : www.wfmu.org...
...I'm done.

Dave B. (@BuckyKatt):

Always good to hear The Romantics! (even though the beginning of that song "borrows" heavily from Prince's "When You Were Mine."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm
Amanda:

It does, @BuckyKatt, but luckily I like that song too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm

Pembroke or Cardigan?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm
Amanda:

Pretty sure those are bunny-butts (Pembroke).
Avatar 12:47pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

A favorite of mine is the book 'The Monster Show' by David J. Skal. It's a cultural history of the Horror genre: why certain imagery when. I prefer SciFi really - & daikaiju (giant monsters) particularly - but the way Horror reflects the unexpressed anxieties in Society keeps me interested. I'm in 'Monster Culture' like I'm a 'Rawker' - & I can't weasel out of it...
- & MST3K was the best !! Joel Hodgson was on 'Night People' :

"Bunny-butts" Haha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm

Excellent. If god wanted corgis to have tails he wouldn't have made me dock them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm

They should change the breed name to Bunny-Butts. Would sound great over the loudspeaker at Westminster.

'Daily Nightly' expresses things about the lysergic experience as well as much else does; it is right in w/ other L.A. Psych, I posit...& real early Moog besides...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm

Love Daily Nightly, RR63, and agree with you! Written by Nesmith, FWIW.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm

I saw an interesting thread recently about how people really from New York don't use the word "bodega" all that much. I usually just say the name of the store.

Yes! The Bronson-voiced guy is indeed in this episode, as the toy repairer that switches the switch from Evil to Good.
