OMG this song. All week I've been with this song. I imagine it as the opening for a saturday morning 70's cartoon about a band solving mysteries.

"Plangent Tangent" sounds like a potential Mogwai song title. Or the name of a Kevin Shields secret project.

A few years ago I attended a MST3K retrospective at a film festival. They live-riffed on Roger Corman's "The Wasp Woman." Just before the retrospective started I crossed paths with Meat Loaf and told him I love the movie "Black Dog." He looked at me like I had said the most offensive thing ever to him.

Yellow Dogs, Black Dog. Go Dog Go.
  1:32am
P-90:

Poor Meat Loaf. So conflicted about his work. But we all know how sensitive these artistic types can be.
  1:37am
P-90:

I haven't seen "Black Dog" myself, but I see it gets a full 11% on the Rotten Tomatoes site.
  1:41am
Andrew Fetter:

I don't know why, but a rating that low makes me interested to see it.
Avatar 1:42am
BadGuyZero))):

"Black Dog" was always on TNT about ten years ago. It's basically "Smokey & The Bandit" played straight and with a lot more things going *BOOM!* There's far worse ways to spend a couple of hours. It's well-suited for having on as background noise while you're working or doing some other task more important than watching a movie.
  1:45am
P-90:

@ Andrew; Right?
@ BGZ : I'm sure it's a good TNT-type movie. With Patrick Swayze and Mr. Loaf it's gotta be fun.
  1:47am
Andrew Fetter:

You had me at "a lot more things go *BOOM!*" BadGuyZero
  1:49am
P-90:

Exactly! Loaf + Swayze + *BOOM*!

There was a review on NPR late last week about a movie called The Identical (or something like that). Basically they said is so bad they recommended everybody drop what they're doing and head to the theater immediately.
Avatar 1:54am
BadGuyZero))):

I've seen lots of TV ads for "The Identical." I could not begin to tell you what it's about. I think it's about a guy who looks like Elvis and the shenanigans that ensue due to people mistaking him for Elvis.
Avatar 1:56am
BadGuyZero))):

Roy Ziegler's label???
  1:59am
rw:

Identical twins separated at birth. One becomes an Elvis like celebrity named Drexel Hemsley who is bigger than Elvis (who also exists in this particular universe). The other becomes a Drexel Hemsley impersonator. Evidently it gets more ridiculous from there.
