Live performance by Black Sea Hotel (L to R) Shelley Thomas, Willa Roberts and Sarah Small)

Known as Brooklyn's practitioners of "Balkan Vocal Pyrotechnics," Black Sea Hotel creates an ethereal blend of tight, sublime women's harmonies in the ancient Eastern-European tradition. "The Forest is Shaking and Swaying" is the latest from these wonderful singers, who are equally at home on club stages as they are in large concert halls worldwide. Black Sea Hotel performed live on WFMU, in advance of a couple of local shows.

HI Everybody! Just getting a chance to chime in here. Thanks for the tip, Mike! Maron's brilliant, and it will be interesting to hear the interplay between him and Robyn. By the way, thanks to Jeff for taking some beautiful photos of Black Sea Hotel. (Forgot my camera today.)

By the way, Irene, around 1PM, someone mentioned a URL of a web site that had info on Black Sea Hotel or an organization they're familiar with. Do you remember what that was? If not, I can check the archive later. Thanks.

Realize post-show comments lack the punch of real-time ones, but I am compelled to log on to voice my ♥ of Black Sea Hotel's in-studio appearance earlier. I did eventually drift into a restorative Katnap, but that was only after I heard all of BSH's performance. THANK YOU, Willa, Sara and Shelley, for the goosebump gorgeous harmonies, and to you as well, Ms. Trudel for bringing them to us!
