I'm not sure which character that was. My understanding is that in ye olden days of yore, before I came to NJ & discovered FMU, Ol' Pal Irwin had a whole range of identities, not just Gordon but various others. In my imagination, there are like 30 or 40 of them, ranging from filthy hippies to snobby country-club Republicans.

@common: - never seen it - but I'm sure he's as good as what he was given...I always refer to Tim Riley's book 'Tell Me Why' on Beatles' tracks & musicianship; Ringo was perfect combination of steady simplicity, fluid adaptability & imagination for what would be required in that band. Okay - another roll here or there mighta been good...Reading the books & hearing the few tracks w/ Pete Best still in - he was stiff - altho' prob. driving & important @ an early stage (...& deffo dumped unceremoniously)...

Last I recall of Joe Frank's opinion on the prospects of new episodes was the fundraising marathon here close to the turn of the century, wherein he said that the restrictions needed to air them had become so severe that he no longer considered it worthwhile, but that he would come back if the tide turned on that score.

I'm going to guess he might have been living in Southern California in the '80s, when I saw him. He was at a street festival of some sort, a featured guest, which suggests he was nearby and available. No idea what he's up to these days.

@RRN63: I heard about it from X.Ray Burns, when he did a solo show while Glen Jones was on vacation. Totally sealed for me that he's why I can listen to that show. That Sherwin Sleeves show can be meh or great, but when it's great, it's really something to remember. And yeah, it's supposed to happen in New Hampshire
