Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
(...vastly prefer the imaginary version of early BlueCheer enthusiastically covering 'AmericaWoman.'...many plays on the juke in my alternate universe...nevermind...)
Felicitations Dj Gaylord and all rhe Commenteers ( welcome Mystery Guest --are you sure you didn"t sing "96 Tears"?)
Just want to say that was an excelllent hour of music, I loved every minute, 5-7 on Sundays is always the Gaylord Hour at my house, has been for many years.

Congratulations on your 22nd anniversary as one of the keystone FMU shows! Silver anniversary in sight, we'll have to have a proper shindig at Monty Hall for that one...
Wow, I guess you haven't really lived until you've encountered Bea Arthur in a dream. I haven't had the pleasure yet, I'm sure my turn will come, if it's meant to Bea...
