@ Dominick: Cool link, thanks, the Fleischers are woefully underrated. The article says about Bimbo and Betty: "Yes, Betty Boop dated a dog." they missed the little-known truth about Betty Boop: she was originally drawn as a canine herself, she looked almost the same in her very first few appearances, but with droopy, hound-dog ears.

"Java"!
By NyooAwlins man Allen Toussaint, in tribute to his native city's coffee. I saw him @ this year's JazzFest! Nearly 80 and still going quite strong!

And Al Hirt, easy listening fave of the early 60s, my grandparents were fans of his stuff.

Also by coincidence, his birthday was three days ago. He's been gone for about 13 years. This is a nice way to include him in my evening.

He loved encouraging people to sing and he loved listening to wonderful voices as well. Lots of wonderful voices here tonight, including our fair DJ. Thanks.

@ RevRab & Stevel: I was just about to ask Reverend Rabbit where that BS ep came from...through the mail from a cereal box or comic book offer is entirely possible

There is an alternate universe in which Chuck Berry is on cereal boxes. (Just close your eyes and picture it.)

The *first* appearance of the BiMonSciFiCon? That's made appearances in several more episodes over the years.

The Springfield Arena usually has something dire going on the next day. Fumigating for vermin or something.

@Ken HP: It's not a good convention, UNLESS they fumigate it or fire hose it off the next day!

Mark Hamill has a great sense of humor. He voiced several scenes in "Robt Chicken Star Wars" and played himself in a "Freakazoid" short involving a character called -- of course -- Fanboy.

Barry White - en.wikipedia.org... :
...'He also wrote "Doin' the Banana Split" for TV bubblegum act The Banana Splits in 1968.[9]'...
- So him being in one of the suits probably an urban myth, we may presume...

I wasn't aware that was an Australian Simpsons theme--I thought it was a modern orchestral arrangement or something, but now I notice the didgeridoo and the somewhat Celtic violin.

No murder for Vicki. Just the suggestion of prostitution.
