mike PLJ was my only other guess. but i think its gotta be z100. all of my other earliest radio memories from then, ~1990 (as a wee lad with a clock radio and radio-only walkman and those cheapo foamy Sony headphones everyone used to have) seem to revolve around z100 and hot97. it couldnt have been hot97.

@ Rev. Turnip: I'm surprised, we get all kinds of stuff here, I'll have a look at some of the specialty places. The beer business is a little funny, very competitive, some local brands can offer distributors a lot of "incentives" to limit their selection of regional brands. BUT in NY we have lots of super fresh (like 2-3 days old) Yeungling beers & ales from PA, one of the real old-fashioned quality American breweries.
