That Uncle Michael photo is impressive. My set-up looks like the Lincoln log version, by comparison. Actually, a similar photo in my home would pretty much just look like me at my desk.

@Doug: Comforting musical beds, like Joe McG's Kevin Ayers ("Crystal Clear", perhaps my fave!), Scott Williams' lineup, Amanda & Fiveash as mentioned above. Irwin once had comfy, worn-in bed music but then he switched it up.

I have the ability to make tracks repeat in the software I use. I just let my mic beds loop and fade them out when I begin the subsequent set.

I'd go all Michael Shelley and DJ the crap outta my show if I could do so and still manage the playlist. So...it's not gonna happen any time soon.
