This JCS production sounds interesting, but I'm a bit concerned that Herod is now bound to overshadow everyone else, which is surely not the point of the show? It's like all the times Judas is better than anyone else (like in the movie, or when Tim Minchin did it).

@mariano: that Ray Winstone thing makes me think of how many British stars started out in music. Seriously, Joe Belock could do one of his "celebrities at their best" just about Brits. Ricky Gervais, Craig Ferguson, Peter Capaldi, Vic Reeves,...

I know you can get it from Netflix. Apparently Laura Dern ran away from home to be in the movie. It was definitely a shoestring budget, but it's such a cool snapshot of early 80s small-town America.

If crazy Bruce Dern was my dad, I'd run away from home too.

@Cecile: true, but he's best known for the music. I'm thinking more about stars known for non-music stuff. Like Brian Cox.

@mariano: prepare to laugh at his haircut.
