I saw Mott the Hoople open for Mahavishnu Orchestra. Someone threw a bottle at Ian Hunter. After he jumped off the stage and kicked ass, Mott's set was over. I miss those incongruous pairings.

OK, "mosquito control" in times of much malaria. On stilts to "facilitate the harvesting of guano by the truckload". Yum.

The "stilts" look at first glance like they're 4 by 4's and the whole thing is like a little dollhouse bat-roost. Then you see the little dude. On closer look the stilts are concrete poured in plywood molds, which captures the wood grain patterns on the surface.

"Guano by the truckload": remember the 2012 Republican Debates?

RR, I saw that same SRV/Beck tour in Sacramento. I went with a bunch of shitkickers who were hog caiiling for Stevie Ray. It was worth the price of admission to see Beck blow 'em all out of the arena.

Mandl, "who's real instrument is bass", is stealing throne time from actual drummers! It's amazing to hear how the different drummers get different sound from the same kit. EFD gets the best tone from the toms, he must hit a dime-sized spot in the middle, but I like Bryce's playing.
