Second time listener, appreciate your diligence very much, not that I agree with everything, but am grateful indeed.

Is this the same Dave Emory? I heard him say he was sick for a couple years...I guess it has been a couple years since I've heard his show on the air (and I remember a lot of them were repeats). But he sounds different, never had a lisp before...did he have a stroke?

I know Dave, and his radio show gives the wrong impression. He flips hamburgers for a living. His closest personal friends are all tough-talking men. This is a man who rents an apartment and NEVER cleans after himself. He lets it go until it is an unlivable beast stall, then he moves out and finds another place to live, leaving the clean-up to someone else. There is something seriously wrong with Dave. A local alternative newspaper in San Jose published a story years ago that stated he suffers from some sort of mental "trauma." Dave attacked the author of the story on the air with name-calling, but didn't dispute a single allegation. Another article, very well sourced investigation online, mentions that he was convicted of a drug offense in New York, served time, then moved to the West Coast. Reportedly, Mae Brussell was aware of Dave's mental condition. On her deathbed, she advised him to "get help." After she passed, researcher John Judge inherited Mae's voluminous files and books on fascism. Dave felt emotionally wounded (she left nothing for him), and went on the air to smear Judge, claiming that he was a "murderer" who once "belonged to the Manson Family." There was no truth to it whatsoever, and Dave knew it. Shortly thereafter, John suffered a heart attack. Dave is given to slandering innocent, well-meaning liberal researchers with fabricated accusations in an attempt to drive them off the air. His own radio work is marginal, IMHO. He once claimed that the murders in Brentwood blamed on OJ Simpson were actually committed by a Satanic cult. Dave fully embraced this theory the first week of his report on the case, though it was increasingly obvious there was no substance to it. The next week, he picked up where he left off, stumbled on an apparent falsehood, then explained, "some of this may be disinformation." If so and he knew it, why did he push on, filling the heads off his audience with fabricated tripe? I almost felt embarrassed for him. That second week of readings on the Simpson case was even more lunatic than the first, but he wouldn't let go. You could hear the hesitation in his voice. He knew the book was trash journalism, but he pretended to believe his "work" on the Simpson case had merit. He has libeled AOC, Edward Snowden and Julian Assange double-agents of the far-right, and has never retracted these bizarre claims. You have to know a little bit about him personally, and fact-check his "work," to understand that this guy is running on one bad cylinder. He covers it up fairly well on the air, but even casual listeners, I've noticed, detect that something isn't right about him. He was once voted "Loon of the Month" by an academic if Florida who found Dave mentally off balance, but "a nice guy." I won't refute this opinion in detail, but in person he is often abusive, vindictive, tends to deal viciously with anyone who criticizes him. As I mentioned, he puts up a front on the air. People suffering from mental health issues learn how to cover them up, but the truth does slip through now and then. He may be a capable hamburger cook, but the "work" he often boasts about consists of reading other peoples' book on the air. Anyone can do that. He seems to think that he wrote the books, and their work is his. Crazy.
