Hey Everybody! Glad to have you here for however long. @Kat & Sean, I just was looking for a good illustration for today's show and that one popped up on Flickr.

Ah, Lunch! That won't be for a while for me. Enjoy!

if I remeber right, the live-part of Ummagumma album originally was intended to finish up with those live-favorites included. But that eventually didn't work out, since the Floyds went on performing most of it till DSOTM / pre WYWH-period.

Philo and I both agree it was a *very* satisfying ending. After watching all the specials, I think it's clear why I was drawn to the series (besides Cranston's awesome acting chops): There are SO many women involved in the production, from writing to directing.

Ah, this my kind of music. Love the authentic and the newly composed versions of anything medieval / renaissance music.
Avatar 1:36pm
braveness23:

@kat330 I have to admit that last night a Dead Can Dance track actually caused me to get up, go across the room and skip the song.
Avatar 1:38pm
kat330:

Not familiar with them.
Avatar 1:40pm
kat330:

But I certainly appreciate skipping a particular song -- I do it all the time and, with my Internet radio remote, don't even have to "go across the room." ;)
Avatar 1:44pm
braveness23:

Dead Can Dance is a band that started off really goth and then went into doing medievally and renaissancey sounding music. I was a HUGE fan for a long time but have been removed from them long enough now to be a bit more objective and realize that a handful of their later songs were garbage.
Avatar 1:47pm

Sorry, Tome, but my selfie will confirm I do as well. ;) But WRT to medieval music, I think it needs to be something you feel deeply, as if so immediately familiar. I'm convinced it was a past-life of mine.

Wow, That "We Three Kings" was achingly beautiful, without a trace of false or forced sentiment. This has been the perfect soundtrack for this grey, grey day. Every year there's a moment when I feel the spirit of the holiday season enter me, sometimes it's at the last minute on Christmas eve, usually at some unpredictable point earlier in the month. This morning was it for this year!
