This is a great version of Honky Cat. I like it much better than the EJ version.

Joe McG -What Cecile said makes sense too...(I should know it in my head by now) So...Is this the excellent covers set?

Jeff:

Even though it's in a completely different style, that bluegrass "I've Just Seen a Face" triggered a sudden recollection of those Big Daddy records in the early '80s (on Rhino, I think). Like the eponymous one and "Meanwhile...Back In The States".

Think I have a cold coming on and I was bought some Jim Beam Rye for Fathers Day, hard to find over here as most people prefer the subtle shades of Scottish whisky. Might have to take a snifter or two later. Purely medicinal you understand.

@Jeff - You know they have a new one coming out, right?

@Jeff: I'm tempted to play another version of that song! Dillards do it, too.

I was first introduced to Mr Beam around 1970 by a guy in the US Navy, he got it from the PX at a silly price. You can only get it here at specialist shops believe it or not.

trish I would not consider mixing it. Our Scottish friends do like to add a little water to their own whisky at times. Not my cup of tea so to speak.
My wife just made some wonderful Rhubarb & Vanilla jam as well as Rhubarb & Ginger jam.

@Brian : Both jams sound yum. I know a pear+ginger and strawberry+rhubarb. Those combos sound very tasty. Mm.

I hate to say it, but the wildflower marmalade from IKEA is pretty tasty.

@trish root ginger is steeped in the rhubarb overnight, then removed and crystallised ginger added at the end.
