Great Saturday morning music. You guys have been playing that Colleen record a lot--it's really cool.

I have to say, this Kath Bloom seems like it's some kind of test--I'm not digging it.

I respect your opinions re: Kath Bloom, and I like everything else you're playing so much, that I'll agree to disagree. These artists are all new to me, and it's really great to get turned on to new music, so thanks Jeffrey!

Kath Bloom is interesting in an avant garde Appalachian folk kind of way... It's easy to imagine folks sitting out on their porches pouring their hearts out in song

Chip Taylor still in the first division.

I've heard of Anais Mitchell because she lives up here in NorthNewEngland (Vermont her case)...& I don't know much but I'm really intrigued!

Ghost is a great song.
...'there is folk and country, for sure, but a jazz (vocal, at least) influence, too' - 1st thing that calls to mind is TimBuckley...
- In TibetanBuddhism you meditate specifically on your own death. I often think 'Civilization' is based on *hiding* the most fundamental & universal realities - how we get here (sex & birth) - & where we end up (death)....

Perhaps this has been this way for a long time, but nowadays we seem locked in a struggle between trying to go deeper and its opposite...running as far away from ourselves as we can.
