July 25, 2013: Live music from FUTURE BIBLE HEROES!

Future Bible Heroes is one of several musical projects led by Stephin Merritt, best known for his work with The Magnetic Fields. In contrast to his other groups, the Future Bible Heroes’ sound is centered around electronica-based disco. “Partygoing,” their first album in 11 years, features their signature mix of dancefloor-filling club anthems and super-sad ballads. The album is available as a single disc, or as part of a 4-CD collection of all their releases bundled together for folks who have recently discovered the band.
Due to ear issues, Stephin Merritt is not performing on the current tour to support the album, but he agreed to sing two songs as an exclusive treat for WFMU listeners. Band members Claudia Gonson and Christopher Ewen, along with Shirley Simms and Anthony Kaczynski, play tracks from all three albums for this special edition of 100% Whatever--their live set begins at 1 am!
