Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Fearing Upsala College takeover and feeling general disgust with demise of counterculture, Vin Scelsa signs off as WFMU staff shuts down station. Upsala keeps station dark for ten months. Lou D'Antonio keeps Freeform flame burning when station resumes broadcasts.

Dave's 80's shows on WPKN in Bridgeport CT were legendary. Sometimes I'd go to bed listening, wake up in the morning, and find him still on the air. He used to play my old hardcore punk band sometimes, and our cut would be sandwiched between post-'68 comeback Elvis and Connie Francis or Don Ho or somesuch... Wonderful radio!

Hey, that was my Dad's 22nd birthday! AND, he was working at a movie theater the summer "Jaws" came out! When I was 6, he told me about it and first explained the concept of the movie to me; how people were scared of sharks, scared of swimming in the ocean...and how people were so scared watching it they threw up in the theater, and he had to clean it up! Good times in '75 :)
