	10:11am Jeezy: Nothing wrong with a simple nugget of pop, Cecile. And like all songs on the EP, it's written by ailing former guitarist Slim Dunlap. They ain't exactly trying to do Let It Be again...
	10:15am Jeezy: Well, not every song on the EP is by Slim. There's a cover or two. The point is to help Slim after his stroke.
	10:15am Cecile: Nothing is wrong, it's just boring. I can appreciate the sentiment without buying into the whole thing. And Let it Be doesn't hold up all that well.
	10:16am Cecile: I used to be the hugest Replacements fan until I moved here. The more I think about it, the more I see the first three albums as a happy accident.
	10:17am Cecile: I mean, good for Slim, but I'll just paypal him some money.
	10:18am doca: Cecile's making me unfavorite the Replacement's song...and I got all surprised that I did like one of their songs. But I agree that event Let It Be doesn't hold up all that well...

	10:19am Jeezy: What?! Preposterous... Every album up until Pleased to Meet Me is basically a classic... Admittedly some are occasionally spotty but these are still great albums.

	10:20am Cecile: I like Please to Meet Me - most of it. Tim is a goof, and I bought Let it Be the day it came out. I can't even buy a $1 copy of their last one.
	10:20am doca: i'm kidding, Cecile, but it was funny because i decided to give it a try to the replacements.
	10:21am Jeezy: Anyhoo, it's an impossible debate. One can't argue what's good or bad, I think. I love a lot of those albums, maybe more tracks than entire albums. It is what it is. It's how it speaks to you and where you were in your life at that point.
	10:21am Cecile: I would start with Hootenanny, and then decide if you want to go forwads or backwards.
	10:22am Cecile: They spoke to me a great deal. I travelled out of town for shows. I bought things the day they came out. I was a one-woman cheering squad for them.

	10:24am Cecile: I can still listen to Hootennany at the drop of a hat, and I think Pleased to Meet me is a great record. But at this juncture, the one Replacements-orientated project I can get behind is Chris Mars's artwork.

	10:25am Jeezy: So then it was the live shows for you, Cecile? You don't sound like that type of Mats' fan with your assessment of their previous albums. I also followed them around. Hard to imagine if you don't love the albums... I'm talking more about your thoughts on their past then their current incarnation.

	10:28am Vivian: My first intro to the Mats was Let It Be. I'm more into that period along with Ma Forgot to Take the Trash Out and Hootenanny. Their later stuff has some high and low points, just my two cents.

	10:32am Cecile: Jeezy, what it is for me that if I have to deal with talented egomaniacs I'd rather be jerked around by Mark E. Smith at this juncture than Paul Westerberg. Smith makes no pretense of pleasing anyone but himself. Westerberg has made a career of "lovable curmudgeon" so he can kind of have it both ways.

	10:50am BenG: Flash Player "aka" pop up vs. MP3? For me hands down MP3. With the MP3 on the desktop I use VLC, or you if want Winamp, Windows Media Player, what-have-you. They have built in equilization and filters to tweak the sound to your ears. It come out nice. To me ears the Flashplayer brings the stream, but not as much music (aka dynamic range).

	10:53am Andrew Waterloo: I definitely prefer playing mp3 through Foobar. Mainly because it's it sits in the background and I don't accidently shut it off when I recklessly close all my browser windows.

	10:58am Cheri Pi: Dieter recalled that Plank's letters tended to focus on his veritable fixation with the pickled eggs there, swearing he could find none as perfect-the earth over like those from the UP. Gong would pen "Angel Egg" as a tongue in cheek jab at Plank's obsession.
	10:58am KevinfromBayRidge: All I know is that Pop-up is the only damned way I can listen at work. So I loooove it!!! Sad to hear in Ken's last "State of the station" that Pop-up is only a "legacy" format now. Had been hoping it would expand to the GTDS & other streams. C'est la vie!

But most of us wouldn't know the difference even if they danced around naked with their code exposed for all to see, digital ones and zeros dangling everywhere....

Turnip Druid: Not sure if it's been said already, but: My experience with the iPhone app is that the double-posting is at least partly due to the white-on-white progress wheel, when you hit POST COMMENT... it's very subtle. Easy to punch it again while it's pausing & grinding its gears. Once I noticed the progress wheel (extremely faint), I've had no issues with comments...

	10:15am Cecile: Nothing is wrong, it's just boring. I can appreciate the sentiment without buying into the whole thing. And Let it Be doesn't hold up all that well.

	10:21am Jeezy: Anyhoo, it's an impossible debate. One can't argue what's good or bad, I think. I love a lot of those albums, maybe more tracks than entire albums. It is what it is. It's how it speaks to you and where you were in your life at that point.

	10:22am Cecile: They spoke to me a great deal. I travelled out of town for shows. I bought things the day they came out. I was a one-woman cheering squad for them.

Smith makes no pretense of pleasing anyone but himself. Westerberg has made a career of "lovable curmudgeon" so he can kind of have it both ways.

	10:50am BenG: Flash Player "aka" pop up vs. MP3? For me hands down MP3. With the MP3 on the desktop I use VLC, or you if want Winamp, Windows Media Player, what-have-you. They have built in equilization and filters to tweak the sound to your ears. It come out nice. To me ears the Flashplayer brings the stream, but not as much music (aka dynamic range).

Turnip Druid: Not sure if it's been said already, but: My experience with the iPhone app is that the double-posting is at least partly due to the white-on-white progress wheel, when you hit POST COMMENT... it's very subtle. Easy to punch it again while it's pausing & grinding its gears. Once I noticed the progress wheel (extremely faint), I've had no issues with comments...
