My opinion is that the new Hendrix album is, as they say, "for completists."
Avatar 3:19pm

I'll stick with my Velvert Turner, there's a new hendrix song each time I play him.

My cloaca is full of staplers now, thanks to that first track after Giant Man.

Fabio, you da man!

I think that was Hendrix live on bath salts..
  3:33pm
Ralphine:

That version of Villanova Junction was so bad that Fabio was ashamed to put it on his playlist.
Avatar 3:35pm

Though, Anthroprophh could be pronounced Anthroproph-H as "anthropophage" which means cannibal in French.

Whose pelt is this Fab? My compliments to the tanner, the staple work is of high quality.

I had to get rid of my 8-track player when I moved here a baker's dozen years ago, b/c it was part of one those giant hi-fi furniture pieces. Still have a box of 8-tracks.

The second and third comments in the thread got it going, Cecile. Fabio had played a lame track off the recent Hendrix release.

@Ken: what?!? Damn, missed it! Oh man, how I love the archives at moments like this. Meanwhile, tv is talking about the influence of Jackson Pollock on early Clash, The Who's ties with surrealism, and about Eno being "not about craft, but about concept". Somehow the intellectual approach to music seems to fit in with Fabio.

glenn, forgive me if you've heard 100 times before, but my general advice is to only buy awesome vintage gear if you have someone reliable who can service it. thats never more crucial than it is with a piece with 20+ year old moving parts, like a reel to reel. but yes if its a good deal and you want some decent analog recording it seems like a nice unit.

Caryn, ive never heard it... i remember seeing it years ago at Vintage Vinyl in New Jersey but EVERYONE said it was disappointing, so i never got it. Yeah, I'm sure Fabio, and any DJ for that matter, would like it if Clay walked into their show early on a regular basis and wanted to chat on the air. To me a lot of it sounds strained. But that's okay, I'll just turn Fabio's show off at that point. Ralph, you think Fabio should be laughing as much when he is alone?
