less than $2500 to go to hit 92% of the final goal... the front page has gone up from 1092k to nearly 1102k (not much less than a 10k increase) in the last 45 minutes (since 4:10)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Skirkie:

I see no Bills on the "notable people" section of Bayonne's wiki page so I have to assume he's a regular schmuck like the rest of us.

less than a mouse pledge from being at 92% of the station's total goal...
Avatar 5:13pm KP:

Hey Cayrn, which episode of the IT Crowd were you talking about? Im the only US fan of that show.
Avatar 5:13pm Caryn:

@KP: it's a combination of: a) I'm hoping I get one of the jobs I'm going out for, b) I had some birthday money left, and c) I can keep sleeping on the couch. Who needs a bed when you got tunes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Joshua K:

Avatar 5:15pm KP:

Caryn, you dont have to tell me!
Avatar 5:16pm Caryn:

@KP: episode 2.2 (Roy's "heart attack" is a brilliant moment), even though 2.1 is definitely the best of all 4 seasons.
Avatar 5:16pm Holly in NC:

I'm fine, Noah, and love Terre's show! Cherry Blossom Clinic usually = at least 2 of the 5 saved shows I have on my phone at any given time. Currently it's 3 ;-)
Avatar 5:17pm Caryn:

Sorry KP, takes a while to write these. Especially since there is a bit of a delay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Skirkie:

Much love for this cover.
Avatar 5:19pm BadGuyZero:

We're waiting for your call here in the phone room. Call now!
Avatar 5:20pm KP:

No prolly. Yes i recognize the episodes. id have to say my favorites are the one with the cannibal murderer and the Gay play. The latter just because i t was the first i saw.
Avatar 5:21pm Caryn:

@the Gay play is 2.1! I just love how the awkwardness escalates and escalates with all three characters.
Avatar 5:22pm KP:

Caryn, i was proud of myself watching IT Crowd in that i immediately recognized it as being like the new Father Ted.
Avatar 5:23pm Caryn:

@KP: well, they are both from the same guy, so it's not a big surprise. Love "Father Ted".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Joshua K:

I'll watch anything with Matt Berry in it
Avatar 5:23pm Holly in NC:

One of my fave covers also, @Skirkie
Avatar 5:24pm KP:

Yes, but i didnt know. just happened to see it one night.
Avatar 5:25pm Caryn:

@Joshua K: indeed! And I'll watch anything associated with Chris Morris.
Avatar 5:26pm KP:

Bad Guy Zero, again i call, again you dont answer! How many pledges must i make!
Avatar 5:27pm Caryn:

@KP: you gotta tell the phone slave "I want to talk to the monkey in the turban!"
Avatar 5:28pm KP:

Avatar 5:29pm KP:

Caryn, who is Chris Morris?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Andrew Waterloo:

I love Black Books as well as the others. You can throw Mighty Boosh is there as well I guess
Avatar 5:32pm KP:

Just saw Matt Berry on Portlandia.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm SeanG:

@Caryn --Four Lions cracked me up!
Avatar 5:32pm Caryn:

@KP: controversial comedy genius. "IT Crowd" was a rare moment of him working on something other than his own stuff (played Denholm). I recommend all his stuff, but especially "Brass Eye", "Jam" and "Four Lions".
Avatar 5:33pm Caryn:

@Andrew & Sean G: hell yeah!
Avatar 5:33pm KP:

Was he in the show?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm SeanG:

I have yet to see "Up to Speed" with Timothy "Speed" Levitch but it looks promising--it's on HULU-same dude that is in "The Cruise"
Avatar 5:43pm KP:

Ive seen some of the Darkplace shows. They get intense.
Avatar 5:44pm Caryn:

Recently, I've gotten into "Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy". Utterly bizarre, and takes a while to get into, but then you get sucked in. And Ayoade's guest appearances are great.
  5:45pm eschoderanarchie:

SO SAY WE ALL!
Avatar 5:48pm KP:

No goal as of yet.
Avatar 5:49pm KP:

hey do the mouse, yeah
Hey you can do it in the house, yeah
Avatar 5:49pm Caryn:

@KP:I'm guessing that they're gathering money so quickly that they are waiting until the last moment to set a goal, just so they don't go over 100 % before time, thus potentially discouraging pledgers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Andrew Waterloo:

Seems the trend is to reach the goal and simply bump it up again
Avatar 5:51pm KP:

I am leaking money quickly. THis was going to be a quiet show until i ran into you!
Avatar 5:52pm Caryn:

@Andrew: yeah, but Tom don't work that way! heh
Avatar 5:54pm slocker:

Caryn, how did you watch the Noel Fielding show, just on You Tube? I've heard it makes Mighty Boosh look like the Cosby Show.
Avatar 5:54pm Michael K.:

hey, I pledged way before I knew what the prizes were, but the only prize I need is the smiling voices of WFMU ! You know I love all of you soooo much! Shout OUT to EFD & Joe Belock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Andrew Waterloo:

I'm happy to see them get over the 90% hump before Sunday
Avatar 5:54pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

The only thing I know of Chris Morris is a brilliant and chilling clip called "Unflustered Parents" that got a lot of airplay on WFMU about 10 years ago. Horrifying and great.
Avatar 5:54pm Caryn:

@slocker: full episodes are on youtube. And yes, it is way beyond the Boosh in terms of weirdness.
Avatar 5:56pm Caryn:

@Pete: that was from the radio version of "Jam", called "Blue Jam".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm G:

@Caryn 5:49PM: I think that's how it works. In past years they set a goal early in the show, and would often overshoot or not come close, neither of which was good. So now they wait till the halfway mark or later to set a goal they can see they will at least come close to.

Here, with Tom as a fundraising wildcard, they were thinking like you said, I bet, Caryn...
5:56pm Nashville Noah from Coffee Break For Heroes...:

Hey Joshua K!! How have you been??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm cklequ:

Full episodes of Jam are on youtube too.
Brilliant television.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Andrew Waterloo:

Avatar 5:58pm Joe B:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Skirkie:

Yowza.
Avatar 5:58pm KP:

OMG!
Avatar 5:59pm ItIsJohnDoe:

The Blue Jam radio series (which was adapted into the Jam TV series) is absolutely brilliant. One of my favourite radio/comedy things ever. They're all available online.
Avatar 5:59pm Caryn:

@cklequ: the weirdest thing is, the DVD version has an option which supposedly gives the show full control of your DVD player. I tried it out once, and, indeed, the player wouldn't respond to controls at all. Had to unplug it from the wall to make it stop showing "Jam".
Avatar 6:00pm KP:

@caryn you just had to try it!

Pot o Gold!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm Joshua K:

Hey Noah. Things going pretty good here. Successful marathon so far this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:03pm cklequ:

I've read that a lot of the skits on the tv show were taken directly from "Blue Jam" with the actors lip synching. Which makes the whole show that much creepier. I think the "unflustered parents" was one of those.
Avatar 6:03pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

On a related note, I turned off the radio in my truck a while ago (during tjis show -- had to use voice command on the phone) and it stayed on even with the button physically in the "off" position. WFMU is now in control of my radio.
Avatar 6:04pm Caryn:

@cklequ: true. It adds to the otherworldly quality.
