Hi all! And yes, I think I may be channeling Julie this evening...
Avatar 12:16am

@amEdeo: Yes, you can come out now.

@Julie: I imagine a Goth Bowl would be a dance fight with way too many colored lights and FX, and you couldn't tell the teams apart because they all wear black clothing and white face paint.

BadGuyZero:

In a box somewhere I have a can of shaving powder and a thing of eye shadow that purportedly belonged to Robert Smith. The "modern rock" station in Dallas launched around the time The Cure came through on the "Disintegration" tour and they had a contest to win various items that were [supposedly] given to the station by Robert. I really wanted his PJs but somebody else ended up getting them. :sad trombone:

You are the only person I have ever met who needed sad trombones to talk about Robert Smith's PJs.
Avatar 12:28am

@amEdeo: The sad trombone player used to accompany me at all times but I had to scale back on hiring her once she joined the STPU [Sad Trombone Players' Union].

STPU, not to be confused with STFU (which is my Meyers Briggs)

I spent my 21st birthday at the Fast Lane in Asbury Park seeing Lush. If I could have picked a band to have play on that birthday they'd be on a very short list. They were excellent as usual. An unimportant act called Weezer opened.

At Lollapalooza '92 I felt like they won the award for band that put those enormous stacks of speakers to the best use. The sound was like a steady wind. I remember it vividly.

I miss Lush.

The person I'm mentioning got caught on an NYU elevator a few times for anywhere from a few minutes to maybe half an hour (not in Main or a classroom building), then started walking up and down four flights for about a decade (roughly the 90s). I used to work in a building that had elevators that would stop one or two feet above or below the floor and also sometimes continue to move once the doors opened. I was terrified of those elevators [worked on the 11th floor] especially after Jerry Fuchs died. I got laid-off a few months after Jerry died so it became a non-issue.
