wikipedia wants to say something:
Italian prog rock band Goblin composed most of the film's musical score in collaboration with Dario Argento. Goblin had previously scored Argento's earlier film Deep Red as well as several subsequent films following Suspiria. In the film's opening credits, they are referred to as "The Goblins".

I worked in a movie theater that was screening "The Tenant" in the summer of 1976. (No, smart aleck, movies weren't only in black and white then.) I don't remember much about it now, but at the time I recall finding it really creepy and weird.
Avatar 3:43pm
Loren:

I find The Tenant to be somewhat humorous... wigs make me giggle.
Avatar 3:43pm
kat330:

@Looms: I enjoyed most all the earlier Chabrol I've seen, mostly with Audran, but thought La Cérémonie was rather weak. Huppert seemed far too old for her role. It was no "In Cold Blood" to explain it another way. I did like Cassel's line "One of them can't read at all, and the other one reads my mail!" [maybe you can post the proper French of that ;)

I don't agree with you, Kat. Huppert is to me really good in this movie; her character is "in between worlds" and constantly scheeming.

@Parq: Philo had the same reaction I did. In fact, he noted that Huppert was too old before I did. She should have been nearer the other girl's age, because anyone that pathological could not have *not* again got in bigger trouble by her late 30's or early 40's (whatever she is).

Well, since I live next to the tracks just outside the 23rd Street "6" Station, I am officially in over my head in this discussion.

I think I like this Algarnas Tradgard action even more. Sorry I don't have the umlauts and what-not on my keyboard.

Matt from Springfield:

@Philo: "old monster movies"? I'm seeing one tonight! Live theater-cast of the MST3K riffing "Plan 9 from Outer Space"! They did "Manos Hands of Fate" in August, that was fun.

Matt, as you already know, the best part about our neighborhood are the big beautiful trees. But some neighbors are systematically chopping them down. On the upside of that, those two beautiful sunsets I caught on camera recently would have been obscured by the trees most recently removed.

kat330:

@Mark: One easy trick for that is copying and pasting directly from the playlist entry.

Mike, do what I do: don't ever talk to ANY of them. That's how I treat my old conservative neighbors.

And @Philo: Hmm, he's one Stiff artist I don't know much about. Wiki says: "Bungalow Hi (2004)". But "Bungalow Lo" would sound like a stutter!

Fabs, did you hear That Dirty Clown yet?

One of the guys was in Die Kreuzen.

@Matt Sounds fantastic! I only semi-jokingly say my two favorite films are "Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie" and "Attack of the Crab Monsters."

@kat: Photog tip: The best sunset photos have the pretty colors, but some trees w/ leaves, silhouetted black against the light.

Scando-lous!

I like the idea of a "dusty sit-in..." sounds like bathroom jargon to me.

Female thing? Yeah, vapors from your husband's socks or something?

In my understanding the vapors were when you got fainty.

@glenn Did and done. I'll be sure to rip off some ideas for cover designs, too!

@Kat that was cruel. True, but cruel. When I was younger, the scent was popcorn.
