  12:29am

BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Or I have my headphones on backwards.
  12:43am
Steve-O:

Hey Therese! Haven't listened to your show in a long while but I thought I'd check in.

So, so glad, you're okay. You're actually one of my favorite DJs on here. =)
  12:43am
Steve-O:

@Holly: Hey, Holly. How's it going down in N.C.?

@Therese: No prob. Definitely gonna try to come back here at some point. =)

Holly in NC:

Hi Steve-O! Here inland Durham, all is well. VERY lucky. Thank you for asking. Hope you're (more than) OK ;-)
Therese you are creating a wonderful show - as always, but this especially hitting the spot.
  12:53am
Steve-O:

@FJ: LOL. BTW, you an old Jeep or a Chrysler? =p
Avatar 12:53am
Therese:

Oh, no! I walked past you today, Jeep and wondered how you were doing.
Avatar 12:54am
Therese:

FJ- Maybe it's because you left your fancy wool hat in the studio?
  12:57am
Steve-O:

@Holly: Yep. It's 11:57 in Frisco, TX. It's 57 degrees, calm, clear, and I'm sitting at my computer listening to Therese. I'm just fine. =)
  12:58am
Steve-O:

@Therese: Somebody give that Jeep a new engine! =)
  12:58am
amEdeo:

I TRIED TO FEED MY HEART FRENCH FRIES... but it is still hungry...
  12:58am
Jersey Shore Dweller:

My stomach's kinda hungry too.
  1:01am
Elwyn:

Bbbbrrrrrrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
  1:03am
Holly in NC:

Bruce! I remember buying this 7", & playing over & over. Sigh.
  1:04am
seang:

That Mascis cover was hilarious
  1:05am
Jersey Shore Dweller:

How was the heart, Holly? Hungry?

Bruce gets a huge state tax break for being a farmer now. SEND FOOD, BIG GUY!
  1:05am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

No squeaky chair in Studio C.
  1:07am
Elwyn:

How I faired/fared: Last week was awesome. The girl who I like broke up with her bf. I hated myself when someone asked her out first. Now, I am not sure when the rebound period ends.
I found $20 on the floor of 7-Eleven but no sugar-less slurpees.

Is the Presidential race that close? Are there that many people who want a businessman who strapped his dog to the top of his car to run the country instead of Obama?
  1:08am
Elwyn:

PS Hungry Heart should be high on the list of awesomely upbeat sounding songs with super-depressing lyrics.
  1:10am
Holly in NC:

I refuse to badmouth Bruce, but I would like to note the wonderful wtf-ness of J Bon Jovi's latter day philanthropy. Who would've ever guessed?
  1:10am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: Higher than Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy?"
  1:11am
Pundit:

Obama is under 50% in almost every swing state. Incumbents always lose any remaining undecideds by 2-1 or 3-1, because the undecideds mainly have already decided not to vote for the incumbent. They just haven't figured out whether to grit their teeth and roll the dice, or just sit on their hands.

It's not looking that good. I heard the O man telling a crowd in NH, "Don't give up on me!!! I haven't given up!!!!" What a clincher argument!
  1:13am
G:

@Elwyn: Like Born in the USA, right? I couldn't figure out what the Reagan 84 re-elect was doing with that one, other than not listening to the words, and assuming no one else did either. Some news that he's suffered from depression for years. It's all over his lyrics, really.
  1:17am
Elwyn:

Wouldn't surprise me if Bruce suffered from the D. He's had his share of tough times such as his battle with former manager Mike Appel and not being permitted to record again until Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Then there's the real downer songs here and there on each album:
* Wreck on a HIghway, Drive All Night
* Downbound Train, Glory Days
* Tunnel of Love was one whole song about marriage breakdown

Then there's always his uppers like "Living Proof", "Land of Hope and Dreams"
  1:17am
G:

nyti.ms/R7FFnL

"Fight Growing Over Online Royalties" (NY Times, today)
  1:19am
Bob in DC/VA/Wherever:

The election seems to come down to who wins Ohio. And George W. was under 50% in the final polls before he beat Kerry in 2004. Short answer: Ask again in two days!
  1:23am
Pundit:

Most polls statistically replicate an electorate/turnout with the same party split from the last similar election, in this case the 2008 POTUS election.

It's really not going to be Dem +8 like 2008 on Tuesday, in Ohio or elsewhere...
Avatar 1:25am
Therese:

Yeah, for better or worse, it will be over soon enough
  1:26am
Pundit:

True dat. Unless something gets messed up and it's lawsuit time. Both sides have already prepared for that, but let's hope it doesn't come to that. Enough already!
  1:27am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

With all the voter fraud/suppression allegations and other assorted shenanigans (suspicious objects outside of polling places...really Florida?) I think there's going to be more finger pointing and calls for recounts than there was in 2000. I'll be surprised if we go to bed on Tuesday knowing who won.
  1:33am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The Jay Vons on Cherry Blossom Clinic (August 28, 2010): http://freemusicarchive.org/music/The_Jay_Vons/
  1:36am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Is Jersey City still under a 7pm-7am pedestrian curfew?
  1:36am
On the Downlow:

Not if you're careful.
  1:47am
Marmalade Kitty:

Mondale v Reagan 1984: Minnesota was the only state the democrats won; Mondales home state.. Hard to believe..?!
  1:48am
G:

Mondale also got DC :-)
  1:48am
Scuttle:

New batch of nyhc so great.. Dont get to see em much in bay area- caught Creem a bit ago though
  2:02am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I'm transcribing your program on my telegraph machine. Head over to Morsespace. My username is -... .- -.. --. ..- -.-- --.. . .-. ---
  2:03am
G:

You telegraphed that one :-)
  2:03am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

You can do it, Therese! (play everything at the right speed, that is)
  2:07am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

There have been numerous UK-released singles that are 45rpm on the a-side and 33rpm on the b-side. Usually the b-side has two songs, hence the slower playback speed.
Avatar 2:18am
Therese:

Hmm. That would explain it. But I still DON'T LIKE IT.
  2:18am
Elwyn:

Aww!! I <3 Galaxie 500.
  2:19am
Marmalade Kitty:

@G: DC - doesn't count
  2:20am
G:

DC thinks so. They think they run the whole country :-)
Avatar 2:25am
Therese:

Tell that to the folks with the TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION license plates.
  2:29am
G:

MK was talking about the 1984 presidential election. DC has 3 EV's in presidential elections, which is more EV power per capita than a state like NY...
  2:30am
Jay/ London:

i have not heard this song in a long time " one night in bangkok "
  2:34am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

You are correct about Anthony Head.

By the way, I miss the dramatic BtVS bed music.
  2:41am
G:

They made DC not a state on purpose back 200 years ago. It creates crazy nuts problems to have a federal government ruling a state that in turn has jurisdiction over the federal government that is located inside of it. So DC was made not a state -- it's a non-state federal district, and people who become residents of DC are choosing to be ruled directly by Congress, as they've always been...
  2:43am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Ted!
  2:43am
Steve-O:

@BGZ: Here's hoping for the best.....a clear Obama win! =)
  2:46am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Willard frightens the hell out of me.
Avatar 2:57am
Therese:

BGZ- the BtVS bed music was fun, but it's too dramatic for every week.
  2:59am
Steve-O:

@therese: Enjoyed the show, Therese......thanks!

Have a nice one, 'kay? =)
Avatar 2:59am
Flooded Jeep:

Perhaps I'll finally be towed tomorrow. At any rate, beeping the imaginary horn for your great show. Gobama!
  3:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

It was fun hearing you react to it.

Great show. Have a great week, Therese! You too Flooded Jeep, Steve-O and everyone else!
  3:07am
Steve-O:

@FJ: Good luck my automotive friend. Say hi to the folks in Toledo for me, would ya'?

(It was fun playing along, btw.)

@BGZ: You too.

Have a nice and safe week, everyone. Here's hoping for an Obama victory on Tues. Gobama/Biden 2012........yes, we can! =D
