Favoriting April 2, 2012: Gently, spring tiptoes in, with Adam Cohen.

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

Artist Track Album Label Format Approx. start time

Live performance and chat with Adam Cohen
The family resemblance is strong in Adam Cohen, evident from the first notes he sings on his new album, "Like a Man." His dad Leonard returned to performing a few years ago, spurring Adam to do likewise after a very long break. Disillusioned after three major label albums with a lukewarm reception, the younger Cohen took a five-year break to return with a new album reminiscent of is father's early, spare sound. Adam Cohen visited WFMU to play live and chat.

  12:18pm
Geddy:

Limelight!
  12:23pm
kat330:

@Torbjørn: Likely that would achieve dad's deeper register, but it's just fine and clean where it is.
  12:27pm
kat330:

Heh! :>
  12:33pm
kat330:

The way he hits, kinda punches the note at the beginning of a word is so much his father....eerie... This is so lovely. Thanks Irene and thanks especially to Adam.
  12:35pm
Chris:

OMG! Not only his fathers genes but his soul and poetic sensibility as well. You have a new admirer.

This Bismol-colored webpage is making me queasy. Reminds me of those peppermint lozenges Aunt Veda used to keep in a little dish on the coffee table by her Kimball organ with the Color-Glo keys.
  1:33pm
G:

Page is beige in IE. Do different browsers display the page in a different color scheme???
  1:37pm
Van in DC:

Huh. Maybe it's a combination of browser and version? In IE, this page is white for me. Pepto Bismol colored in Firefox.
  1:44pm
kat330:

Color of my lunch smoothie was somewhere between these two shades.
And I bought a Bombino ticket at lunch and am tickled two shades of pink.

This is the color astronaut Buzz Aldrin saw just before he doubled-over and urped up some Tang. Kidding. Love it.
