The program formerly known as Dinner at Andy's, The Fuzzy Glove Hour, Whores, and The Happiness Hut. Ken and Andy, also known as The Enema Boys, further lower WFMU's already abysmal standards on a weekly basis. Stunt radio which subjects the radio audience to concepts and topics which mature adults should not have to endure. Find the fatal flaw. (Visit homepage.)

Listener comments!

  6:00pm
Danne D:

I can't believe I got through
  6:00pm
G:

Someone zinged the theme all of a sudden
  6:00pm
Danne D:

And here I thought it was a computer problem, but really Ken broke the theme song.
  6:01pm
G:

Skypemeister General.
  6:01pm
Listener Julian:

Oh please let's figure out what hotel he's staying at.
  6:03pm
listener mark:

Is there a Motel 6 in Los Angeles?
  6:03pm
hamburger:

Hey! I remember when Andy called room service into Ken when he was staying in a hotel - requesting for a 'pillow with a hole in it'
  6:03pm
G:

The most entertaining parts of wikipedia are the talk ("Discussion") pages where obsessives with no real life who think they own articles and topics endlessly bicker. And the Admin pages where they escalate from there. It's like travelling back in time to usenet.
  6:03pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Niiiight People! Oh wait... that's another skype show.
  6:04pm
Danne D:

By "Hotel" does Andy really mean "Rehab Facility"?
  6:04pm
G:

@Dan: This is "Dusk People". Easy mistake, though.
  6:05pm
listener mark:

Next week is 'bat' night! First forty people get a bat!
  6:05pm
Danne D:

I think an interesting premise might be having one show where only Andy is on mike and Ken can only use the comments board and then the next week have only Ken on the mike and just Andy on the comments board.
  6:06pm
Carmichael:

I only need 1 bat to make a statement.
  6:06pm
John McCabe in L.A.:

Hi Andy I looking for work as a grip in L.A. can you hook me up?
  6:06pm
G:

Is Julie giving out upside-down bats on *her* show?
  6:06pm
G:

Actually, John, Andy totally need to get a grip.
  6:07pm
listener mark:

Looks like they will have forty three bats left over.
  6:07pm
Carmichael:

Andy is in LA because that's the furthest Ken could send him and still be in the US. Well, there's Hawaii, but Andy would like that. The opposite of Hawaii is LA.
  6:08pm
hamburger:

nice zinger mark
  6:08pm
Danne D:

LOL G :) You'll have to ask her.

Suggestion to Andy - you might wanna let those first 45 people get in free next week.

Suggestion to attendees - sand is messy but effective - super balls will give more spring action off the bat, though.
  6:08pm
kat330:

@Danne: I think it would be wonderful, but doubt they'll ever go for it.
  6:08pm
JohnEBGood:

Bat Day was for 14 and under. Each bat was signed by a present Yankee. The Bobby Murcer was most valued and popular in the early 70's.
  6:09pm
Danne D:

@kat330 of course they won't - that involved Andy using a computer :)
  6:09pm
Carmichael:

Melee is not a Hawaiian word.
  6:09pm
G:

Melees started in Meleesia
  6:09pm
Danne D:

Crossing next week off my list of shows, since if I ever were to make it, I'd barely get there on time.
  6:09pm
G:

Read that on wikipedia.
  6:10pm
glenn:

a near palindrome? by that logic, so is technicality.
  6:10pm
Carmichael:

If I had a bat, I would cause a "scene".
  6:10pm
listener mark:

The Hells Angels club house is on third Street. They bring their own bats.
  6:11pm
glenn:

amy allison just cancelled.
  6:11pm
My Lai:

Indeed.
  6:11pm
Sean Daily:

So, let me get this straight... drunken bat-wielding brawls are WRONG all of a sudden?
  6:12pm
Carmichael:

My bat would eventually be upside down in its placement.
  6:12pm
G:

@Sean: To killjoys worried about liability.
  6:12pm
Danne D:

That was a pretty good call by me as calls by me go :)
  6:12pm
kat330:

What's all this about May Lays? It's only March.
  6:13pm
::JT::

Has anyone yet cashed in on the UCB cancellation insurance?? Wish I'd bought it....
  6:13pm
G:

*may* lay. Nothing definite. Par for the course, in other words.
  6:14pm
Danne D:

This guy going all Richard III with the concept here.
  6:14pm
kat330:

Sorta like the call screener.
  6:14pm
Carmichael:

Lou Reed is nearly ready to call in with his cancellation.
  6:14pm
My Lai:

Reverse Crystal Night!
  6:15pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Give bats to people named Zimmermann, and hoodies to everyone else?
  6:15pm
Danne D:

Happy Birthday Kathleen :)
  6:15pm
kat330:

AAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
  6:15pm
::JT::

Kat330 just screamed!!
  6:15pm
G:

This show is NOT fifteen years long. It only seems that way.
  6:16pm
kat330:

C'mon, Andy, give me a break!!
  6:16pm
Danne D:

Ya know I never thought about this but why do people celebrate birthdays but they never celebrate c-section days?
  6:16pm
Carmichael:

Jehovah's Witness Andy. Jeezz ...
  6:16pm
Danne D:

wait if it's Kat's birthday today wouldn't she be kat328?
  6:16pm
kat330:

@G: I've heard this show before it was ever streamed, like since the late '80s/early 90's (I won't go into the explanation now).
  6:17pm
Carmichael:

Andy's in West Hollywood, at the Ramrod club.
  6:17pm
G:

My LA gf is in Koreatown. I'll sic her on you.
  6:17pm
listener mark:

Oh dear G*d! There are still forty two more minutes left.
  6:17pm
Call Screener Jef:

Thanks guys, my elbow feels better already. But it's still good that I'm ambidextrous!
  6:17pm
kat330:

They're early, Danne, but I don't care. I'm red and happy. :)
  6:18pm
G:

You might wanna wipe that off, Jef
  6:18pm
Danne D:

Andy would need to use a computer in order to correct things - the fatal flaw in the premise has been identified.
  6:18pm
kat330:

[Thanks to JT for doing this behind the scenes]
  6:18pm
Danne D:

Hey Kat do you remember when they did the "20 Questions" show back in the early days?
  6:18pm
G:

Every single edit is there in order on the history page, with the username or IP addy. See History page.
  6:20pm
glenn:

a preemptive poem for kat : hurray hurray, it's the first of may.
outdoor fucking begins today.
  6:20pm
kat330:

@Danne: Sorta rings a bell. I heard the show when visiting NYC and I think I must have heard tapes of the show (made by my former Brooklyn beau).
  6:20pm
Danne D:

Andy has found the career sweet spot where he can sell a show, get the dough for that, but never have to actually work on actual episodes. Well done by him.
  6:20pm
G:

Does Andy agree with the wording of the Feud with Don McLean section?
  6:21pm
Listener Julian:

This is great radio.
  6:21pm
Danne D:

Hmmm, let's see if you can remember - the answer to the first "20 Questions" was an actor (who already was deceased at the time the show aired)
  6:21pm
lewis:

now this is good radio1
  6:21pm
groucho:

yo yo Kenzo! heard one of your Boredcast shows this afternoon, splendid cutting!
  6:22pm
groucho:

Manchester, England signing in btw.
  6:22pm
kat330:

@glenn: Lovely sentiment (things we did on grass / splendour in the grass) -- thanks!
  6:22pm
Danne D:

@groucho what is that?
  6:22pm
Caryn:

Seriously, Danne, you remember all that? (And this is not one of my 20 questions!)
  6:23pm
kat330:

Oh, hell, Danne, gimme a break! :)
  6:23pm
Danne D:

Jew vs Jew - that sounds like a game show episode of 7 Second Delay
  6:23pm
groucho:

@Danne a month long radio station run by Vicki from Do Or DIY. it's amazing http://basic.fm/radio/
  6:24pm
G:

Didn't Jew vs. Jew used to be a cartoon in Mad Magazine?
  6:24pm
Danne D:

Absolutely, Caryn :) I actually solved the 1st one :) Ken and Andy had put $25 into the Western Union. Once solved, Ken gave out the name and password for the Western Union Money order...

.... live on the air.
  6:25pm
Caryn:

@Danne: heh! They should do an episode called that!
  6:26pm
::JT::

I don't remember last week's episode myself.
  6:26pm
seang:

how about Tonetta's wikipage?
  6:27pm
Danne D:

@Groucho that's awesome :)
  6:27pm
hamburger:

under the article history of Ken's brother, it mentions (Reverting stunt radio-based vandalism.) hmmmm...
  6:27pm
G:

Add a short paragraph in Ken Freedman about him dying of Lyme Disease, with a link to donate to his medical fund that actually goes to the FMU online pledge page.
  6:27pm
G:

Thanks G-d, someone with the taste and judgment to spike Spike.
  6:28pm
kat330:

@Danne: Just thought of another way to express the early greetings a la one of my taglines: I'm Friday's Child in a Wednesday World (and I was in fact born on a Friday, too).
  6:28pm
groucho:

@Danne it finishes this Saturday but it's all being archived on WFMU's servers next month. lots to dip into
  6:29pm
kat330:

Buckley debuted at FMU, seriously?! Gawd, I love him...such a loss....
  6:29pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Spike was prolly gonna complain about John Wesley Shipp. Who is that? Beats me.
  6:30pm
Caryn:

@kat: I remember reading that and going "why did I miss that!?!" Would've loved to have heard Buckley on WFMU.
  6:31pm
Spike:

someone who has talent, Pet.
  6:31pm
wa wa:

sharpling is married to his ego.
  6:31pm
Dan B From Upstate:

John McCabe is now no longer invited to call the show.
  6:32pm
Danne D:

So anyway so after I answered the first of the "20 Questions" puzzles (the answer was Bob Crane) I scrambled to find a Western Union. About 15 minutes later I was there (I actually had to call the station back to get Ken's name straight - very early in my listenership) at the Grand Union Western Union counter. I actually signed the name that Ken had indicated the Western Union was under (this didn't phase the kid behind the counter at the Grand Union - he acted like that happened all the time) and got the $25. I get back into the car and apparently a whole stream of folks had been calling and failing at getting the money. With about 3 minutes left in the show I pulled over to the side of the road - called Ken and Andy on a PAY PHONE and told them "I got the money!" A rare SSD success :) Andy advised to hold back $4 out of the $25 and that evening I went to the Meadowlands and blew $21 on the horse races.
  6:33pm
kat330:

@Caryn: I wouldn't have been I-net capable whenever it happened, if it did, but there should be an archive...hmmm...
  6:33pm
wa wa:

that's alot of words.
  6:34pm
kat330:

@Danne: THAT story should be somewhere on Wiki! Cool (or as JT and I say, Mollusk!)
  6:34pm
glenn:

danne got blown for 21$ at the horse races?
  6:34pm
G:

THIS IS ONLY HALF OVER? TIME IS COMPRESSING! EINSTEIN, CALL YOUR OFFICE.
  6:34pm
Listener Julian:

That story has something for everyone.

Danne D:

So would a cannibalism fan be disappointed by the Hunger Games?
  6:36pm
Danne D:

Hunger Games sounds like the Food Network's answer to the X-Games
  6:36pm
Caryn:

So Andy met his wife when they were being chased by Mr. Burns?
  6:37pm
me:

cannibalism!
  6:38pm
G:

Spike is so talented, he figured out how to get GOMPed twice in the same quarter-hour of call-in radio.

Maybe he should hge his handle to Stalke.
  6:38pm
Caryn:

There really isn't cannibalism in The Hunger Games. Although in a way, that wolf scene could be considered cannibalism...
  6:39pm
JohnEBGood:

Wikipedia once had Tom married to Terre T
  6:39pm
kat330:

Honest to gawd, I was just the other week wondering how Andy and Beth met. "The Most Dangerous/Hunger Game" scenario lacks some credibility
  6:40pm
Danne D:

Calling wikipedia to fix something sounds like the way Andy would go about doing it.
  6:41pm
me:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:WFMU_DJ

help?
  6:41pm
Danne D:

The first half of this show should've been people adding wikipedia errors.

The second half should've been corrections - kinda like a treasure hunt.
  6:42pm
G:

wikipedia: "protected" and "semi-protected"
  6:42pm

Wikipedia user 38.100.175.194 is an uptight douche.

battle royale was terrifying
  6:43pm
kat330:

Studio City?
  6:44pm
Danne D:

Andy is at the No-Tell Motel
  6:44pm
Caryn:

I gotta say, ever since Gilliam came up with "Brazil" without reading "1984", I'm willing to believe Collins about coming up with "Hunger Games" without watching or reading "Battle Royale".
  6:45pm
Dan B From Upstate:

Safe word? How about Uncle Nigel?
  6:45pm
me:

wikipedians... douches... NO WaY!
  6:45pm
giraffe-o:

Please let us know which Hollywood alleyway Andy's cardboard box is in.
  6:45pm
G:

How hot were the sheets when you checked into your room, Andy? Were any of the condoms on the floor in good enough shape to be reused?
  6:46pm
kat330:

Safe word? How about Fireking?
  6:46pm
Caryn:

@giraffe-o: Michael Biehn stole Andy's trousers in that alley at the beginning of "The Terminator".
  6:47pm
me:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:WFMU_DJ Thank you !!!
  6:47pm

Beth, get back on the horn.
  6:47pm

What's the longest anyone's ever had a Wikipedia joke last, before it was removed?
  6:50pm
kat330:

@me: I see there how Andy met Beth. Are you asking for changes, or other DJs added or ?
  6:50pm
G:

@Giraffo: Most likely a few days. There are several million English-language articles, but nearly all of them have volunteers who have taken it on themselves to monitor frequently any new changes to the pages they watch.
  6:50pm
Danne D:

Why do I think Spike will win the Beauty Pageant?
  6:50pm
G:

Spike should be Miss 7SD.
  6:51pm
G:

Great minds, Danne.
  6:51pm
kat330:

Is this like Martha Marcy May Marlene?
  6:51pm
Danne D:

"Easy" 100 wins every time.
  6:52pm
kiemzi:

it's not the first radio beauty pageant ken! http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/35939
  6:52pm
Beauty Pageant Judge:

Easy is good, babee.
  6:52pm
Caryn:

I still vote for the battle for the crown. Kathy Katie had the right idea there.
  6:53pm
Beauty Pageant Judge:

You said you may lay? Better and better.
  6:54pm
glenn:

i operate on the milli-helen principle. helen of troy had a face that would launch a thousand ships. if your face can launch 829 ships, you get 829 milli-helens.
  6:54pm
kiemzi:

this contest is SEXIST
  6:54pm
kat330:

I can't stop laughing.... this show is 100 right now.
  6:55pm
kat330:

The Mighty Quinn.
  6:56pm
Caryn:

Could that Canadian transsexual beauty queen that was kicked out of the Miss Canada pageant take part or this pageant also just for "natural-born women"?
  6:56pm
kat330:

I'm sure they WILL mark on the curve.
  6:56pm
mike noble in dc:

i can vouch for the attractiveness of 97 quinn. also it's nice that ken has finally acknowledged listener quinn is a woman.
  6:56pm
Beauty Pageant Judge:

but real 89 beats BS 100
  6:56pm
hopey:

I've never heard so many female callers before. Why did I tune in so late??
  6:56pm
quinn:

thanks mike, i'm a babe
  6:56pm

The 7 Second Delay Beauty Contest is rigged.
  6:57pm

Has Andy ordered his in-room porno subscription for the night yet?

Happy May lays to all! Great show and thanks for the b'day shoutout again, Ken (and Andy)!

Hoodie Wearer:

Unarmed Target is preferable.
  6:59pm

Are they going to ustream next week's show or will we just have to imagine the melee?
  7:00pm
Caryn:

Happy b'day, kat!
  7:00pm
me:

birthday!
  7:00pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I called from my car a bit ago. I didn't have access to the internet. The Magic School Bus story was the best I could come up with on short notice.
  7:00pm
Dan B From Upstate:

@Caryn, you can see stills at the blog site.
  7:00pm
kat330:

Thanks, Caryn, but hopefully we'll be around Friday.
  7:02pm
Pete from Boston (and nj):

Wow, the Wikipedia comment about Ken being adopted is already gone. Who are these maniacal Wikipedia guardians anyway?
  7:04pm
Caryn:

Thanks, Dan B!
  7:06pm
@ Pete:

  7:09pm
groucho:

this chat should stay open forever and we'll continue changing wiki's til the end of time
  7:12pm
Danne D:

take care all :)
  7:34pm
G:

@Pete: People interested in a topic will set it up to have a notice sent to them any time there is any edit on a page they are interested in. If you check the history page for the article, you will see who reverted it and (usually) their reason. It says "(Reverting stunt radio-based vandalism)". Someone higher up in comments gave the reverting editor's IP address right during the show.

hey LZ, if you check here again, do you have an e-mail I can contact you on?
  4:19am
lz:

what for?
  5:58am
KM:

just to ask about some older shows
  4:45pm
lz:

Just ask here.
  2:23pm
KM:

well I can't because of the nature of it. first I was going to ask if you had certain unarchived shows, second I was going to ask if you remember what ken kept censoring in a particular show that made andy squirm.
  12:16pm
lz:

I really don't want to give out my email adress on here, sorry. As for that particular show, I am pretty sure it was something about going to an Al Qaeda training camp and plotting to kill the President.
