  3:10am
Andrew:

Hi Nat ^_^
I love the cat meows with random music
who's Benny Mardones?
  3:11am
Nat:

Hi Andrew. Benny Mardones wrote that first song, Through The Night!!
  3:16am
Andrew:

MacGuyver ^_^

gotta go soon though O_Q
Since we have daylight savings here, it's meant i can't stay for long at all...
  3:32am
Andrew:

Thanks for playing this Nat ^_^
I'd love to stay but can't O_Q
these mixed up ones are great, I'll listen on the archives.
  3:43am
fred:

Good morning Nat and Andrew!
  3:46am
fred von helsing:

Sorry but Hall & Oates are evil. My personal rule is always to kick any jukebox playing them, even at the cost of getting 86'd
  3:51am
fred:

Nat, when is that live session with Nisennenmondai?
Hi Fred, that's the name I came up with when you asked me who was my favorite band
  3:55am
Nat:

Hey Fred, their set'll be aired November 9th.
  3:58am
fred:

Thanks Nat: that got me checking their site, they play near Paris next month and I didn't know that
  3:59am
Nat:

Ah yeah, I dunno if their entire tour is with Battles, but a lot of it is.
  4:03am
fred von helsing:

Battles are GREAT live
  4:06am
fred:

It doesn't look like Battles is playing that gig, that venue is too small for them by now.
I already saw Nisennemondai three times and I love them. And it's basically the only way I can find their records, even though they've usually sold out everything by the second day of their tours
  4:10am
Nat:

Yaaaayyyyy!!!!! Glad you guys are into them.
  4:12am
fred:

@FVH: I haven't seen Battles in four years, are they better live without Braxton?
  4:14am
fred:

@Nat: I love Nisennenmondai so much that I'm willing to wear a lime green T-shirt (the only one left during their last tour)
  4:19am
fred von helsing:

Beats me! - I never heard of them til this spring. The gig was great tho (I was working backstage :)
  4:28am
fred:

I'd like to see them again, but I'm afraid they moved out of my price range. They've crept into the €30+ category, and I will rarely shell that out for a gig
  4:33am
bennett:

My favorite yet, Nat. Awesome sound. Will send $$ tomorrow.
  4:36am
fred von helsing:

I like the cat sound, can you post it somewhere? Could be handy for DJ'ing :-D
  4:40am
pierre:

Bonjour Nat, bonjour fred, bonjour fred van helsing (the catacombes ranger), banjour andrew, bonjour bennett. Hope all is well
  4:41am
Nat:

Well thanks, Bennett! I appreciate that. Yes, that cat sound IS helpful for DJing. I'm not sure where it'd be appropriate to post it, but there are definitely a million cat meow sound effects all over the internet. Less than a dime a dozen. Yet priceless.
  4:43am
fred von helsing:

hey pierre do you know how to contact the gal that did the Latin translations? she can't seem to reach me on faceborg
  4:52am
pierre:

what was her name, already?
  4:56am
fred von helsing:

How are you inserting the cat? Do you have some old-style carts in the DJ booth? Or some kind of whizbang MP3 board?
  5:03am
fred von helsing:

pierre, her name was Caryn, but she said it's her middle name and it's not her handle elsewhere. i've scoured my faceborg messaging and can't find anything from her, but she says she followed the link from the catacombes
  5:04am
Nat:

I use a usb mixer. But I actually just have the clip loaded into Ableton Live and press "M" on my keyboard.
  5:06am
Nat:

But we do also have old-style carts. I stopped using them at this point....I'm all digital, baby!
  5:09am
fred von helsing:

recognisable beat... so disoriented... must sit down... no must dance...
  5:12am
fred von helsing:

Never heard of Ableton before. I see it's pricy but the Live Intro is cheaper than Traktor. Works 4 U ? I wouldn't try to do a lot of short MP3s in Traktor, that's fer sher
  5:14am
Nat:

Yeah, it's great. (I didn't pay for it...ahem). But the USB mixer is really what allows me to make my edits so fast.
  5:16am
pierre:

aarf, flute fred v h, i don' t remember, how could i help ?
  5:18am
pierre:

what is that track's name Nat ?
feels like the theme from a John Carpenter movie
  5:19am
Nat:

Umberto w/ The Psychic. Record's called Prophecy of the Black Widow.
  5:20am
fred von helsing:

Nat - USB mixer? Never heard of such a beast d'oh, got a mfr & model nr?
Pierre - Aw heck I dunno, does she hang out on any other shows besides Julie?
  5:21am
abby in france:

hey pierre hey nat
that is breathless!
  5:23am
pierre:

tu déchire Nat, thanks

hey abby in france !
(did you know that Brian Turner will be in france in april? learn that yesterday)
  5:26am
pierre:

and Nat (sorry), but what is that crazy drums take on classic tunes ?? it is great, i so digging this
  5:27am
fred von helsing:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  5:27am
Nat:

It's just a digital mixer that plugs into your USB, so it can control pretty much audio software. I wouldn't recommend the one that I use - it's cheaper, but definitely because it is made crappier - the Behringer BCF2000.
  5:27am
abby in france:

no i did not know that.
it's tough hearing about the record fair all the time isn't it?
i think nat is so great and amazing for inspiration when you are trying to get work done.
plus i love that song.
  5:28am
fred:

@fred: Not sure she's the same one, but there was a Caryn on Keili's comment board this Sunday. I may have got that wrong, but she seemed to be from Finland or nearby
  5:30am
pierre:

yeah abby this is tough
  5:36am
fred von helsing:

All the graveyard shift DJs seem to have a following from the France-Finland-MK Axis of EuroEvil (I assume MK has a land of her own :)
  5:43am
fred:

If Caryn shows up next sunday I'll ask her about the latin stuff and try to put you both in touch.
  5:45am
pierre:

@fred, are you coming to the Ut gig tonight, and the Bill Orcutt one thursday?
  5:49am
fred:

Not tonight, but definitely tomorrow. BTW Lucas said we should have a few beer when he's back from Vienna next week, I'll keep you posted if you're game for that
  5:53am
pierre:

cool, i'll see you tomorrow !!
i'm totally up for a beer with you and Lucas.
(i don't know when he will be back, but on saturday i'll be at the Monochrome Set gig ^^ so psyched)
  5:54am
Nat:

!!!
  6:00am
fred von helsing:

thanks!
  6:03am
Bas, NL:

Thanks Nat!
  8:08am
