Insane Clown Posse? How do they exist?
  4:46pm
tony:

From an AV Club 2009 interview with Charles Napier: I was dating some stripper, and she told me about a movie this guy wanted her to make, and she was scared to go in and talk to the guy. But I went along, and at that time, he was out in Santa Monica someplace, and I walked in, and he basically said “What the hell are you doing here?” And I said “Well, she doesn’t feel comfortable around you.” And he said, “Do you feel comfortable around me?” And I said, “About as far as I can fuckin’ throw ya.” And I wound up in a movie. He said, “Have you been in the military?” I go “Yeah,” and he goes, “Okay, I want you to play this role.” And that’s how I got in the movie with him.
  4:46pm
hubba:

Sorry, that was referencing Napier's relationship with Russ Meyer if it wasn't obvious.
  4:50pm
hubba:

What is happening to Bryan Ferry?
  4:51pm
J J:

The commentary track on the Beyond the Valley with Roger Ebert is one of my favorites.
What's his face, Jonathan Demme was a fan of Napier from Meyers movies, put him in his movies as well. He had that awesome old school movie star face.
  4:53pm
jz:

Sorry I missed the Bedford, he’s underappreciated tho’ appearing in Wire and Mojo recently. Much of his music sounds a bit like 2001: A Space Odyssey with ethereal children’s or women’s voices added
  5:02pm

  5:14pm
BSI:

I found a CD of the Beyond the Valley soundtrack, coupled with tunes from another film called GROUPIE GIRL, which I haven't seen ....... sounds like an ideal double-feature based on titles alone....

Relayer is not Tales From Topographic Oceans!
  5:57pm

The Man stripped pop culture out of '60s social movements for just that reason, IMO....

  5:57pm

Timex Social Club was an American R&B/Hip hop group, formed in 1982 by students of Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California. They are perhaps best known for their 1986 hit single, "Rumors" and for being major forerunners to the soon-incipient new jack swing movement.
