Send some of that rain out here! Irwin smokes? Icky.
  3:21pm
Robert:

Strange, but I too have been unaccountably drowsy and napping all day! And because I'm trying to lose weight and haven't much food in the house, I've felt like eating much o the day too, when I was awake.
  3:21pm
Droopy:

Is Cialis right for me?

  3:23pm
Matt from Springfield:

Afternoon, all.

AMAZING Dan & Joel remix! And it sounds like PLU and Ergo Phizmiz mixed rising star Max Rubin into this song.
  3:23pm
northguineahills:

Nice PLU/EP track.
  3:23pm
Desert Chica:

Nice one, Droopy!
  3:25pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Irwin,Robert: Foods like chocolate (and Chinese, French toast, and others esp. sugary starchy ones) will wind up making you tired, and more hungry.
  3:26pm
Matt from Springfield:

Again with Chinese food, as well as bacon, orange juice and flavored chips will leave you thirsty for HOURS.
  3:26pm
Robert:

Does that say "FORGET DULL CARE" or "FORGET BULL CARE"?
  3:27pm
Matt from Springfield:

FLOPPY! This is NEW AMANDA?! GREAT backing track, and vocals as usual!
  3:27pm
Robert:

Matt, that might explain it for Irwin, but not for me, because I haven't eaten today.

Skipping meals kicks your body into starvation mode, This leads to weight gain.
  3:33pm
Robert:

Yeah, but eating when you're asleep kicks your body into choke mode, which leads to asphyxia.

Have you locals delivered chocolate to the studio yet?
  3:41pm
Confused:

R. Stevie Infinity
  3:42pm
Desert Chica:

Or is encouraging listeners to rush the studio frowned upon at WFMU?
  3:44pm
Desert Chica:

R Stevie more than your Stevie
  3:44pm
USPS:

We deliver chocolate. Please mark "high quality chocolate" on the package, so we know which packages to inspect carefully.

Enjoyed listening to this show of yours, Irwin, on a portable player while walking downtown last weekend. Helpful listening as I accidentally happened upon skads of people gathering for some video awards show thing.

100% cacao is still my favorite. you can take a chunk and eat it just as is, or take a square and eat it with a piece of fruit. or even eat a chunk with a pastry sweet or not. that way you can control the sweetness level your own way. but of course this way is not chocolate because no milk or cream. but you can add that too if you want

has anyone seen or heard a "hupenmann" this is a latest musical thing sometimes dumb street performance sometimes brilliant worthy of stage. the artist laces a jump suit sort of outfit with bicycle horns and makes very authentic sounding music with it by using his body in various moves to honk the horns.

  4:41pm
Matt from Springfield:

OMG...it's like a mash-up between Rosemary and Fischer! I'd therefore love to see footage of them in the same studio, singing this together!
  4:43pm
Matt from Springfield:

Wrote and produced by Barnes & Barnes, "fictional twin brothers Art Barnes and Artie Barnes (Bill Mumy and Robert Haimer, respectively), are a comedy rock duo based in "Lumania", a fictional mythological civilization (similar to Lemuria or Atlantis). Most of their music is standard rock or pop with heavy comedic elements. They are best known for their 1978 song "Fish Heads." "

The Sherman Brothers:

@Irwin: If we had continued our songwriting for Disney, and if the original Walt Disney were alive today and commissioning songs, we think our current output would be very similar to this Amanda's recordings.
  4:54pm
The Sherman Brothers:

In fact, "Supercalifragilisticexpiali-cookie" was to be the featured song in one of our shelved musicals.

I did happen to notice that everything you play consists of sounds--do you always play sounds, or is this a "theme" episode?
  5:31pm
New Listener:

Genre-surfing tokenism, but over the years you surf through the same old 419 genres and sub-genres in each show.
  5:39pm
Desert Chica:

low tones in yawns of men and women, such a relaxing comfort
  5:39pm
Howie:

I feel like I'm listening to a Cameron Crowe movie.

nestor:

same advice my guidance counselor gave to me in high school.
  5:41pm

Sounds like Syd Barrett's last recordings--they let Fischer sing by himself and added a backing track around his vocal later.
  5:41pm
Denise in DC:

Hello, Irwin.

Hello, all.
  5:42pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hello Denise!

If Family Dogg had followed the Chambers Brothers, I might have slipped into gentle sleep.
  5:43pm
Ensemble National Des Percussions de Guinée:

Hey Denise, welcome.
  5:45pm
Desert Chica:

Hey, Denise! You're late -- or early for the antics of Ken and what's-his-face, can't remember that shrinking violet's name...
  5:47pm
trrissh:

Good listening. Many thanks.
  5:47pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Sleepyhead: The qualified WFMU DJ would then be required to play the Wild Man Fischer, to "ease" you out of said gentle sleep.
  5:48pm
Sleepyhead:

Fischer to the rescue. Glad it's only radio and not a hurled Zappa family knick-knack.
  5:50pm
fred:

are you playing this for Andy Breck-Man?
  5:50pm
Denise in DC:

Thank you for the welcome. My workplace, rudely enough, has required me to perform work away from the computer for the past few weeks, so I couldn't be here.
  5:50pm
Sleepyhead:

Luck be some chocolate and a nap tonight

  5:51pm
Sleepyhead:

ACK! That damned seg!
  5:52pm
Matt from Springfield:

@Denise: There is the WFMU iPhone app, but knowing my luck my work would probably send me somewhere where iPhones are prohibited (they are in here, but at least I have a desktop).
  5:53pm
Sleepyhead:

It is not a bed.
  5:53pm
Denise in DC:

I have the app. Unfortunately, I cannot listen while I am being forced to interact with other humans.

Haunt is right. It's mass hypnosis.
  5:54pm

The last 5 minutes are always the best. Hi Irwin and people.
  5:54pm

background music reminds me of... say, Voice of Romania shortwave world service interval music - whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up to you - personally I'm a fan of shortwave interval music
  5:55pm
Denise in DC:

Aloha, Carmichael!

  5:58pm
Katya Oddio:

Guessing if it isn't for hypnosis, it is just to encourage us to remix Select Quote.
  5:58pm
other david:

the first time I heard Wire playing Pink Flag, I thought he was singing - "Armenia! Armenia! Armenia!", rather than How Many Are/How Many Are?

Pie.
  5:59pm
Matt from Springfield:

Another lame concept, 7SD full speed ahead!

Enjoyable and engaging show, Irwin!
  6:00pm
Desert Chica:
