Brian Turner did a 7" show where I think he played something like 72 songs in 3 hours...
  6:36am

Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi...remember the cat theme show and The Cat Came Back was unavailable? I was on vacation visiting my dear mother last week and I heard something familiar on the TV. My kids had the Noggin channel on and there was a kid-friendly version of that song. What a ripper! The guys at Google tell me Laurie Berkner was the artist.
  6:59am
Meghan:

Morning Ken! There are a bunch of versions of that song.... I remember one that had a cartoon that was really funny! Hmmmm I found it recently too.... lemme find that...
  7:00am
Chuck:

  7:34am
miraculous:

  7:35am
Meghan:

hehe..... you been cheating Parq? Get the teacher's notes ahead of time?
  7:37am

Maybe Parq went dumpster diving for the mimeograph of the test like in "Animal House"! Ha!
  7:38am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Morning all! Meghan remember, blessed are the cheese makers.
  7:39am
Meghan:

  7:47am

  7:49am
Meghan:

Mine DID, but got rid of it my sophomore year... it was by the woodshop and autobody shop.... before they got rid of BOTH of those.
  7:54am
Chuck:

stingy d:

yes yes yes! i just want my taco bell too !!!!
  8:00am
Meghan:

Morning Stingy!
  8:02am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Noah's cool. A year or two ago I was wearing my WFMU shirt in a Whole Foods in Arlington, VA and I was stopped by a fellow stocking the meat shelf who asked me if I ever listened to Noah on WFMU. Turns out he was a friend of Noah. True story. It is a small world and WFMU is everywhere.
  8:03am
Meghan:

Wow! that is crazy! It's such a small world! And yes, he is a super nice guy!
  8:05am
Chuck:

I once ran into a guy that one of my sisters dated in high school in the train station in Friedburg, Germany! The planet is smaller than you think!
  8:07am
Meghan:

Wow! that is SMALL! I wander around NYC and always wonder if I will run into someone and don't.... go to Puerto Rico installing a sculpture for Tom Otterness and run into an old Tallix employee on vacation....
  8:07am
stingy d:

hi meghan! and yea i also have some loose ties to noah. some friends of mine used to share an aprtment with him. in fort greene.
  8:11am
stingy d:

and lastly i wish you could play the ol dirty bastard song about school. it's perhaps a little too dirty.
  8:13am
Meghan:

Well, having one of the Wu Tang was a good replacement....
  8:14am
stingy d:

no complaints outta me! whats up tho: i'm drinking coffee, and the biscuits are baking!
  8:17am
stingy d:

MY DOG IS HOLDING THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!!!!

  8:28am
jeff p:

B,S,W,D! Nice!
  8:31am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

There are so many songs with women's names in the title I have no idea how you will pare the list down.

Sweet Caroline- Neil Diamond
Donna - Richie Valens
Ann - The Stooges
Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkel
Sweet Jane - The Velvet Underground
Sister Ray - Velvet Underground
Sally Can't Dance - The Velvet Underground
Janie Jones - The Clash

Sheena is a Punk Rocker - The Ramones
Valerie - The Monkees
Now Mary - The White Stripes
Allison - Elvis Costello
Gloria - Them
Sweet Adeline - Elliott Smith
Angie - The Rolling Stones
Lady Jane - The Rolling Stones
The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll - Bob Dylan
Ellen and Ben - The Dismemberment Plan
  8:32am
jeff p:

867-5309
hey paula
zach and sarah (ben foldes)
  8:33am
Meghan:

That is what makes it a good theme.... I can always go back to it and do it again and again and again.....
  8:35am
Bad Ronald:

Don't forget Nick Lowe's "Marie Provost"
  8:36am
Meghan:

I will write all these down! Want to make sure your stuff gets played!
  8:37am
Chuck:

I think I'm gonna bow out of the women's name theme... I know that you'll come up with so many songs that it'll become overhelming! Don't need to add my confusion to making decisions...
  8:37am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

What would be a true challenge and take this show to the next level would be a theme in which all of the songs have the same title, whether it actually be the same song or a different song with the same title. Kenny G would weep openly that he did not think of it first.
  8:38am
B. Gates:

You don't need to write them down - just copy and paste!
  8:39am
Meghan:

Actually Dum Dum.... I DO have a show coming up that is like that.... It's all songs about Stagger Lee.....
  8:40am
Chuck:

Hey! I have the Just Can't Get Enough collection, all 15 volumes. God I love that stuff!
  8:40am
Meghan:

and Mr Gates.... i have a notebook of songs... so copy paste won't work too well for me.... fancy technology man.... hehe
  8:41am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

Very cool. You are way ahead of me, as usual.
  8:42am
Meghan:

I have plans and plans and plans.... it's bad.... number theme where I try to make each track match the song.... like number one has to have One in it.... Trying to pull a show together of songs about each state.... stuff like that...
  8:45am
jeff p:

"Furniture"
  8:45am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

How about a show based upon the playing times of the songs? Each song exactly one second longer than the song that precedes it. Too esoteric?
  8:47am
Meghan:

Now that is some Kenny G stuff there! Like the last recording period for the RIAA where he didn't have to record the name of any song under 30 seconds... so he played all his one second, two second, three second, etc. songs
  8:47am
jeff p:

"88 lines about 44 women" by The Nails
  8:48am
meghan:

now does that fall under 88 or 44..... hehe.... the Nails are great
  8:48am
miraculous:

the song length idea is strong
  8:50am
Chuck:

Take it easy folks! Let's not bombard the woman with too many new things when there are still shows in the works!
  8:50am
jeff p:

I was thinking your "girls" list
  8:50am
jeff p:

It's too late, chuck! The floodgates are open!
  8:51am
Meghan:

hehe.... thanks everyone! Yeah, let's worry about me being ABLE to do more shows first! Only so many left until the fall schedule!
  8:52am
Meghan:

Oh true jeff! All the women's names in there.... good suggestion!
  8:52am
Dum Dum Guy at the Gates of Dawn:

If he doesn't play ball, I'll get Ken's home phone number and set the robo-caller on overdrive. The man will get no sleep, I promise you that.
  8:53am
messica:

sweet show dude!
  8:55am
jeff p:

isn't "women's names" two words?
  8:57am
Meghan:

hehe... Thanks Everyone!
  12:29am
Ben:

It might be a little late, but here are a few ideas for your doctor show.
*The Who--Doctor Doctor
*The Thompson Twins--Doctor Doctor (different song from the Who)
*The Beatles--Doctor Robert
*Steve Martin--Dentist (from Little Shop of Horrors)
*The Velvet Underground--Lady Godiva's Operation
*Steely Dan--Doctor Wu
You're doing great. I hope you're on the fall schedule.
