I liked it the first time I had to take them - the haze lasted for hours and it was kind of cool.
Then it put me in this time compression where I would think I'd be asleep for 3 days, and it would be 45 minutes. It's necessary for the first 3 days, but i'm with you, Parq...

dfs- there are garlic festivals out our way in otsego and chenango counties. here's a great recipe: fresh kale leaves, olive oil and garlic chopped.. marinate the kale in the garlic and oil overnight.......... mangia!! no cooking required

I'm back. Hadda walk the dogs and get to the office. I am grateful to be able just to get the CA garlic, instead of the who-knows-where stuff in the chain supermarket. The Greenmarket's supply of local dried up over a month ago. Annie, please save me a few bulbs. 'Cile, the Les Bank docum includes footage of a NoLa guy making a very large batch of gumbo, and it is the most intense food porn I've ever seen. A bushel basket of garlic heads, unpeeled - check! Still b/p, I also grew up in a garlic-free zone, and I would *so* buy garlic Pez.

I'm with you, Ike, that's why I'm buying CA garlic from the one store I've found that has it, until the local stuff is back. One thing about living in NYC, the local stuff is hard to find, and expense when you find it. But, as Ike will surely agree, it's stronger and you can use less if you prefer. I am extravagant, and use the same amount to get the extra flavor. As I said, no such thing as too much garlic.

Yes, Parq, the NY garlic is VERY expensive at the Union Sq. Greenmarket but often worth it as it's 1000x stronger than bland Chinese shit garlic (NOT an exaggeration).

I love avocados. I'd eat them every other day if they were as cheap and plentiful as in Mexico. The price here has come down a bit, but not enough. I presume this is because of intense protectionism of the CA avocado ranchers. Hmmph. I don't know much about NAFTA but shouldn't it give us cheap avocados from Mexico without protectionism bullshit?
