Muzak just died
  4:21pm
Parq:

Is it okay for me to say I like this Steve Miller Band stuff much more than the 70s and 80s stuff that made the charts?
  4:23pm
Sean Daily:

No it's not, Parq! You know why? Because I'm not here to make friends!

And I'm probably succeeding admirably in my quest.
  4:24pm
Everybody:

But something didn't touch me deep inside, the day the Muuuuuzak died.
  4:30pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Properly engineered and mastered, this version of "Livin' Thing" would probably be better than the original.
  4:50pm
still b/p:

If I was properly engineered and mastered, I wonder if...
  4:50pm
SmallyBiggs:

  4:52pm
Carmichael:

Rock'n'Roll High School,
Rock rock
Rock'n'Roll High School
  4:55pm
Parq:

Smally, a little googling reveals that Dondero High was in Royal Oaks MI, and that Glenn Frey is an alum. Even better, their annual Pop Concert Albums, including the 2001 one, are available for free download from the Comfort Stand web site. What would we do without Comfort Stand?

(Can you tell how bored I am with the work on my desk?)
  4:58pm
Carmichael:

Irwin,

If you could find the time to serenade us with some Martin Newell, I would place you prominently in my will.
  5:00pm
Irwin:

Easy! Coming up within the hawf 'our.
  5:10pm
Jimmy Safechuck:

These guys (Gamelan Jegog Werdi Sentana) rock harder than the Dondero High School Band, even, if such a thing is possible.
  5:11pm
Carmichael:

Thanks! You're an On Air Personality's On Air Personality.
  5:13pm

  5:17pm
John:

  5:17pm
Laura L:

  5:21pm
Irwin:

  5:22pm
texas scott:

"Cease trying to forgive those who wronged you. Aim to kill the self within, not until then will you find there is nothing that even remembers the injury."
just thought of that.
  5:23pm
Carmichael:

  5:26pm
Li'l Yung Biggie Bastard:

Y Knot? Bhekcause I said so!! Now go to your room!
  5:27pm
Laura L:

Damn it all, I can't go--am obliged to go to yet another person's half-century b.d. celebration tonight. I would if it were not for that--please give the old man a hard time! He should be made to do Molly Shannon's Sally O'Malley routine.
  5:28pm
Irwin:

You shall go to bed without your Helge, dearie.
  5:29pm
Irwin:

Let me re-phrase that ....
  5:34pm
Carmichael:

Awesome! Sounds a little like Urban Turban.
  5:35pm
Sean Daily:

You know, for a short time there in the 1920s, you could actually get chicks with a uke. Whatever happened to those halcyon days?
  5:39pm
Carmichael:

In the summer, the raccoon coats began to emanate something fierce. And after WWI, "The Maginot Line" went out of style and the dames started swooning over that pretty-boy wuss Rudy Vallee.

The Day the Music Died.
  5:46pm
Laura L:

Aw, I should have remembered to ask for Blossom Dearie. R.I.P., Dearie.
  5:50pm
Parq:

Yeah, what a shame about Blossom. I don't know whether or not she ever knew about FMU, but she should have, coz most of what I know of her work, I know from listening right here.
  5:53pm
Laura L:

Beautiful photo of her accompanies L.A. Times obit.
http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-blossom-dearie9-2009feb09,0,4427856.story
  5:56pm
Parq:

Laura speaks the truth; that photo is terrific. Thanks for that, Miss L!
  5:58pm
Laura L:

What a class act she was. I saw her perform in NYC--age 70 somethin. Excellent, naturally.
