Listener comments!

  3:17pm
Cecile:

Let the battle royale between DJ and audience begin!
  3:17pm
jan:

Kenny G ran overtime, but the last Stooges treatment was the best. I am back for Good ol irwin
  3:20pm
Parq:

Hey, was anyone listeing to Kenny G's show? Instead of his usual challenging stuff, he was playing nothing but punk rock. Why would he do that? And, as is usually the case with punk rock, all the songs sounded the same. Man, it's bad enough I had to suffer that Horn Lady picture on Ken's playlist . . .
  3:23pm
Cecile:

*throws folding chair at Parq*
  3:24pm
Brother Colm:

Irwins version was the best
  3:26pm
RSTVMO:

Cecile, am I allowed in here today? No? Parq, help me out.... Still Not Yet? DIDN'T THINK SO! byeee
  3:27pm
Cecile:

sure. Come on in, RSM!
  3:28pm
Cecile:

I was going to get a sody, but the man is working on the machine...
  3:28pm
Laura L:

Bob Vido's is the best version of Loose.
  3:30pm
xangoir:

never trust a hippie
  3:31pm
Andy Dancer:

Urm, Parq. Kenny G did play the same song for three hours (yet again!).
  3:32pm
Cecile:

I think Parq was making a funny...
  3:33pm
SueB:

this is the song i choked on in 7th grade. we all sounded kinda like this.
  3:37pm
Parq:

Wait a sec, I'll go check Kenny's playlist as soon as I climb out from under this dang chair someone threw at me.
  3:39pm
Cecile:

It's ok if you don't get the Stooges if you get the Fall.
  3:39pm
Steve Barton:

Has Mark E. Smith ever been seen wearing a hat?
  3:41pm
detroitdave:

and Irwin continues the tribute.........hell, I got a boner!
  3:42pm
jan:

I wanna be your dog- now why is this preferable to the stooges, Irwin?
  3:45pm
Lizardner Dave:

Can I request "Loose"? It would be a nice tribute to Ron Asheton. Nobody ever plays that one.
  3:45pm
still b/p:

I seen Iggy only once, in '77, when unbilled, flannel-shirted Bowie was aboard for keyboard and back-up vocals. That's it -- my shuffleboard puck of music history/memory to slide along the comment court today.
  3:46pm
north guinea hills:

I like the idea of the Fall, Like maybe 5 albums worth is enough.... but, most of there shit are essentially repeats...

now the stooges, i really like, but they don't tickle me in the same spot as mark e smith, but i feel a need to have all of the early stooges albums....
  3:49pm
Parq:

Dave, Ron Asheton died?!?
  3:49pm
jan:

emelie simone- that is a sweet cover, I think I can turn the volume back up. Unlike kenny's show, when I just turn it off altogether
  3:50pm
Irwin:

Lizardner -- BRRRRRILLIANT IDEAR!
  3:50pm
Greg G from DC:

What if you like the Stooges, Ella and the Fall? Perhaps that is only reserved to the few of us who now live in the Sanatorium?

Never liking the Stooges sounds like Big Apple hipsterism wrapped around not liking the foundation of Punk, but what do I know ... time to take the meds and understand that everything is OK and under control by the authorities ...who tell me ... this is so ... so be it!
  3:51pm
jan:

nope, turning the volume back down until Jenny is over. It's hard to accomplish anything here when I keep working the volume and playlist comments
  3:55pm
Matt:

somebody practiced this in front of a mirror.
  3:55pm
Cecile:

Greg, some people just don't like the stuff you like. It was a hard lesson for me to learn, too.
  3:57pm
Cecile:

I mean, I'm even married to one of those people.
  3:57pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

getting back on track now!
  4:01pm
xangoir:

I thought that is from album I own called Satanic Panic in the Attic
  4:03pm
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  4:03pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

everything about Of Montreal is pretensious, and yet they still make good music.
  4:08pm
jan:

not that these WFMU DJ's care, but I'm liking Goldfrapp.
  4:11pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

boy that IS good advice!
  4:11pm
Ike:

DCE, you mean they USED to make good music. The tracks I've heard from their most recent album are incredibly idiotic garish stinkbombs from a special level of hell where everybody is ridiculously flamboyant all the time, like Dan Bejar and (the insanely overrated) Antony scrambled and turned up to 11 with extra stupidity.
  4:11pm
Lizardner Dave:

@Parq: Wait, Ron Asheton died? I thought the tribute was for his birthday.
  4:16pm
Cecile:

the vibes are a nice touch on this RSM tune.
  4:16pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

Ike, yeah, I did not run out and purchase that one, and it made me sad that I didn't want to hear it.
  4:24pm
Cecile:

Irwin, we must have bought the exact opposite records in the 80s. It is good to hear them now, though.
  4:25pm
still b/p:

Part of this has some hints of Andy Pratt's Avenging Annie...'member?
  4:32pm
Cecile:

BIx could drink and drug Ron Asheton under the table.
  4:34pm
?:

Sound quality on this Bix is amazing
  4:34pm
still b/p:

...Or under the turf sooner/younger.
  4:41pm
Greg G from DC:

I agree with you Cecile, that we all have different taste and like different types of music, but even if someone does not care for the music of the Stooges, they could at least appreciate it historically for what foundations it laid for other bands to come, especially after the death of one the members, like Ron Asheton.

Well I like Bix that's playing now too, perhaps I just like too much stuff? Perhaps that's why I now spend all my time in the Infirmary.
  4:42pm
Cecile:

Oh, I agree.

Was it St. James Infirmary?
  4:53pm
Don:

Cecile do you think ken is still upset?
  4:55pm
Cecile:

about what?
  4:56pm
Cecile:

you are such a liar, Irwin.
Playing BIx and all...
LOL!
  4:56pm
Don:

no matter, you must be another Cecile
  4:56pm
dan in falls church VA:

i was elvis' breakfast!
  4:58pm
Cecile:

No, I'm the same Cecile.
Do you mean about the comment board this AM?
  5:02pm
rta2:

Candy Bars for Elvis. Ha, Ha Ha. I almost pissed myself!
  5:03pm
Don:

yes cecile about the comment board this AM, i think he must accept other people opinions, even from assholes, he must be more intelligent than them and let the comment board open to all that love the show...by the way i like your name
  5:05pm
RSTVMO:

Beany & Cecile, you're breakin my heart, yer shakin my confidence daily.
  5:06pm
Cecile:

thanks!

he sounded pretty hale and hearty for Kenny's show, and even opened up the coment board for him.

I like "does your mother know you're out tonight, Cecilia?" better...;)
  5:10pm
jan:

surprised to know that this was fleetwood mac after all of those heavy
associations with this band to an earlier presidential campaign
  5:15pm
gumby:

Stanley Turrentine is Happenin'
  5:19pm
Bad Ronald:

That's right pray til it hurts!
  5:20pm
Cecile:

It works, Irwin!
I wanted to hear Loose, and I heard it for three hours today! Hallelujah!
  5:21pm
C:

I prayed that you wouldn't play this! Why would Ken do this to me? Is He a cruel God?
  5:21pm
Frank Zappa:

That's right, remember there is a big difference between kneeling down and bending over...
  5:23pm
Parq:

et ego nesciebam eum sed qui misit me baptizare in aqua ille mihi dixit super quem videris Spiritum descendentem et manentem super eum hic est qui baptizat in Spiritu Sancto
  5:25pm
Lizardner Dave:

@Frank Zappa: He's got 20 million in his heavenly bank account....

Just listened to that record the other day.
  5:26pm
Bad Ronald:

You Are What You Is
  5:31pm
Cecile:

holy crap, if my kid was singing this at camp....
  5:31pm
Bad Ronald:

Admit it Irwin, you got those kids locked in your cellar chained to a Teac recording tunes at your command!
  5:33pm
Sean Daily:

Ok, Irwin. I will sue you. I am from New Jersey, after all...
  5:33pm
Parq:

Actually, Ron, that would be kind of cool.
  5:37pm
Bad Ronald:

Yeah, you're right Parq. I would make 'em like do 97 takes of "Loose"
  5:37pm
C:

Is there any backstory to the camp song? seems like a strange one for kids to be singing at camp.
  5:41pm
Bad Ronald:

Robots don't let other robots drink alone!
  5:56pm
Ron Asheton:

I am not dead. It was a hoax to get my name mentioned for once......It's always Iggy this and Iggy that....Damn do you know how annoying that gets after all those decades and all those drugs? Very annoying....And of course you radio DJs from coast to coast still have to mention Iggy when I am the one that is supposed to be dead. NOTE I will be making my official statement on VH1 later tonight....Irwin love your show
  6:45am
andy pratt:

whoever that was, thanks for mentioning me. I'm on many web sites if anyone is interested....happy days to all....Andy Pratt (70s Art/Rock Legend)
