Billy Costello was the original voice of Popeye. I think he was for an appreciable amount of time. Expert I ain't, but Danny Stiles plays Billy Costello's version of Popeye the Sailor Man often, and it's amazing!

BBCA ? Gosh, it wasn't a BBC programme over here - it was broadcast by C4, a commercial station.

I got in to a little trouble on April 1, a couple of years when I wrote on a BBC News message board, that I'd just learned that Pope Benedict XV was dead ...
