Chat and live performance by David Hykes |
||||||||||
Composer and singer, sacred music and meditation retreat leader, writer and long-time spiritual practitioner, David Hykes has been a leading pioneer in the sacred sounds revival worldwide since 1975. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of "HEARING SOLAR WINDS," Hykes's landmark album with The Harmonic Choir, which launched the contemporary harmonic and healing sounds movement, inspired countless singers and "sound healers" few of these gems David dropped by to chat, and perform a bit of harmonic chant for the WFMU listeners. |

In theory, no.But in practice, maybe.
I'd like to take the high road. That is what MLK taught us. That is what this music tells us.

Could you tell your listeners what software you prefer to use to loop and "push" the different harmonic frequencies in your recordings?
Loving the show!

loving the show! very beautiful music . . .
re: passivity; there is a book entitled "The Buddha Taught Non-Violence, Not Pacifism" -- have not read it yet, but it deals with the differences between the two concepts . . . sounds similar to the Gandhian discussions of satyagraha, which is not about being "passive" but a definite active, sometimes almost militant form of non-violence and/or resistance . . .
SO TRUE about music being a healing force -- been feeling thoroughly crappy all day and the music is DEFINITELY helping -- THANK-YOU!
