I first heard the song on the live album from a 1968 Guthrie tribute concert held at Carnegie Hall, NYC. (The LP from '72.) It was by Ramblin' Jack Elliott. Woody's son Arlo did it on his 1972 album "Hobo's Lullaby." I believe there are several versions recorded.
