Yesterday at a dance show, after the announcement to "please turn off your phone" had little effect, they had people go through the rows repeating that personally. A woman in front of me looked puzzled, like she didn't understand what "turning off your phone" even meant (she was probably in her late fifties too). She kept it on, and it loudly went off a few times (the show was mostly silent, the only sounds feet shuffling and a guy imitating bird noises, so her ringtone was extra irritating)
