Great memories of "walkin' the dog" after a holiday dinner many moons ago.

Love that Webb pierce! And there’s no hint of a euphemism when he says he’s “walk-in’ the dog”

Sometimes that radio program leaves some artifacts behind. The worst for me was when I accidentally played Smashmouth instead of Ira Hayes by Johnny Cash because it was next up in the playlist.

The Patsy Great Performances PBS tribute thing was predictably pretty up and down, but some nice clips interspersed, like Roy Clark talking about how she cold called him to say she wasn't record a song the label tried to get her to take out from under him.

@audiocarp there was some talk about how a producer had to talk her out of her earlier, more growling honky ways of singing

This is such a bitchin' show. My Mom used to sing Patsy Cline around the house when I was growing up in the early 1970's. Mom and her sister, the Sparkman Sisters, had a Sunday evening 30 minute radio program on a station in Huntsville, Alabama during the late 1940's.

Up-tempo tale of mail fraud and heartbreak!

They got the meats -- they being the lonely and rich, who are not invited to the party where this song is being sung to a crowd of neighbors brought together by honky-tonk joy. This song knows where it's at. And where we're at.

Tom Waits's The Black Rider and Sonic Youth's Bad Moon Rising are go-to November records for me. Sandy Denny elevates any family gathering. And If I Should Fall from Grace with God just seems like a reasonable thing to make sure younger cousins know about.
